"You know that I can't, show you me, give you me"

Luna's POV

"I'm fine, Jeremy! I promise nothing will happen to me!" I yelled, trying to shove him down the opposite hallway, but he didn't budge—like he was glued to the floor. How strong was he, really?

"Luna, no... I'm not accepting this anymore. Do you realize the kind of scolding we got yesterday?" His voice carried that dangerous undertone I knew too well.

"I promise I'll call you for help. We can communicate normally, remember?" I tried to reason, hoping my words would finally pierce through his stubbornness.

He sighed in defeat, and I felt a small victory spark inside me.

"Okay, fine. But call me first in your head if those—those idiots try anything, got it?" I nodded, feeling a strange sense of relief.

"Ugh, I hate you," he groaned as he finally walked away.

"I love you too!" I yelled after him, knowing full well every eye in the hallway was on me. I didn't care. I just hurried along, desperate to escape before my bad luck found me again.

I barely had a moment to catch my breath before a wave of students pushed past me. I squinted, trying to see what had captured their attention.

My heart dropped.

Pia and her clique were at it again. A girl—dark straight hair, glasses, round cheeks—was being bullied mercilessly. Books scattered across the floor, her limbs painfully pinned under one of those boot‑heeled monsters. I froze at the sight.

Pia's smirk was the last thing I wanted to see. She raised her hand and slapped the girl across the face.

"Disgraceful bitch! How dare you bump into MY guy!" Pia screeched.

My mind screamed. Her... guy?

The girl shook her head, sobbing, but Pia was relentless. Another slap, a kick to the ribs, another laugh of pure malice. My hands balled into fists, trembling, but I couldn't fight—not in this state.

The bell rang. Chaos scattered. Pia and her friends spat on the girl before walking away, leaving her crying on the floor.

I stepped forward cautiously, collecting her belongings. "Here... take my hand. Let's get you to the infirmary."

The girl stared at me, stunned, before placing her hand in mine. "D-don't you have class?" she asked.

I shook my head. "It's fine. One rant won't hurt." She smiled faintly, and for the first time that day, I felt something warm—friendship.

Infirmary

"Thank you... um..."

"Luna," I said with a soft smile, helping her settle.

"Jenycel," she replied, her eyes lighting up as she held my hand.

I couldn't stop the small grin from spreading. Making a friend, especially one like her, felt... freeing.
" You know, you don't have to take whatevetvthey say to heart"

She frowned visibly

" Maybe they were right... I am a little ugly "

"You're not ugly," I said firmly when she tried to protest.

She chuckled shyly. "Thank you, Luna... your words mean a lot."

We laughed lightly over small things—her observations, my reactions, the ridiculousness of Pia and her clique. Slowly, the heaviness lifted, replaced by something... lighter.
