It was dark. Not a star seen in the sky, as pants could be heard alongside the crunching of leaves under a figures feet. Puffs of air visible during the freezing night. From the looks of it he was a guard. Most likely, a higher up. He ran, speeding towards the Castle. He knew a meeting was taking it's course, but the news he had was some that just couldn't wait. Pushing himself to go faster was his only mission at the moment. He ignored the wet feeling from his bottom half, he ignored his body practically burning him alive as he ran over the draw bridge straight into the castle.

Once inside, the king stared at him in eyes wide, and mouth slightly agape with his brows furrowed. And with his voice he boomed.

" You there why have you come here without breath, and gasping in each breath you try to take. Explain yourself." The knight still bent over heaving gasped for air before going into a deep explanation.

"Forgive me my King but, I was told some information that was too important to wait." He said before once again gulping in each breath of air he could get in his lungs before slowly standing too full height.

"Well out with it, speak up at ONCE!" the king raised his voice at the final bit causing the night to stand up taller, and fix his posture in mere seconds.

"While in the forest patrolling a man came to me and stared me in the eyes. Unlike ours his eyes we're golden with a swift movement he had me pinned to a tree with his single hand. It was like a claw, all inky and black and he told me to come to you and say his name..." Suddenly the guard had stopped and had a face full of terror as if he had seen his nightmares come to life. The king just stared at him not even noticing how the man began to fall face forward revealing a knife in his back. No one was behind him, but the horror of screams could be heard as everyone stared at the dead man. The man looked at the knife to see it disappear into a peace of parchment before he could examine it. And it read one word on it...

Cipher

A name that made even the worst terrors imaginable pale in comparison. He  was merciless. Wherever he walked death was sure to follow. He was widely known especially for his insane methods on dealing with those who break his deals. There bodies we're usually found, beyond identification. The people who received the body we're usually the families of the victims. While all the others stared at the note terrified, some screamed,

"What could that monster want from us!"

"What's going to happen to us all?"

"Were Doomed!"

Was all thrown around the room, but one woman noticed the King's face. He was pale and his eyes shifted. And with a sharp voice she stared at the man with an evil glare.

"King Ronald the first, what have YOU done?"
