IS THIS REAL?

Chapter 21

Rebecca was first to wake up. She felt someone's strong gaze was watching her from the dark lurking shadows. She thought at first maybe it was Colby watching her but then she realized that he was fast asleep. She got out of the bed and walked to the window, pushed open to reveal nothing but a dark scenery. "Weird" she said to herself.

You'd think that she is just being anxious, like who would be in Colby's house so early in the morning but, she knew something was up and she would not give up. She walked back to the bed and checked her phone nothing. She opened to that text message that she received earlier.

Who are you? What the hell
Do you want from me? "Stop
Playing these little games and
Leave me alone.

She hit sent and noticed that the message was left on read but the person on the other end didn't respond back. She switched off her phone and placed it on the table next to her.

"Rebecca" she her name being called. She was a bit frightened at first but, it was just Colby calling her.

"What's wrong" he asked tiredly.

"Nothing just went to the bathroom then checked something on my phone" she said.

"Oh ok come back to bed please" he tapped the empty spot on the bed.

"Ok" she walked back and got in and he snuggled up with her.

Colby would not stop shuffling on the bed. He moved his arm around but felt an empty spot next to him then suddenly felt disappointed that Rebecca wasn't there. He got up and continued to his daily routine. When he went to the coffee store after coming back from his teachings at the academy, he received a text from Rebecca saying she had to go to LA and she would be back on Thursday. It was Tuesday today.

He watched as people came in and out of the shop but noticed this woman wearing a black hoodie with her faced covered, sitting by herself for the past 30 minutes. He asked one of the baristas if she had ordered anything and they said no. Something was strange about her. Usually he would let someone else lock up the cafe but then he would do it today. It was lock up time and the mysterious woman was leaving and that when Colby caught a glimpse of her hair: Golden brown curls. He thought he'd recognize those curls but then it could have been any random women and he was just being delusional.

She was in LA just to run a few errands and meet up with some friends. Currently, she was lying down on the couch in her therapist office. She decided it had been a long time since she had spoken with her therapist.

"So how have things been since our last session" he asked

"Crazy, well I would say crazy but really different" she said. "Well ever since I met Colby I never felt more, happier" she admitted.

"How so" he asked.

"When I was Luke, I felt some feelings, but I never told him I loved him, but with Colby everytime I spend with him I get comfortable really quickly and love the way he treats me, constantly surprising me" she ranted out. But now recently he started acting weird and when I wanted to talk to him about it, he just brushes it off like its nothing"

"Okay" he nodded.

"Man I thought that I was crazy, but I never expected Colby to be so so..." she says but couldn't find the right words.

"Strange" he looked back down into his notebook and continued writing." But besides what had happened with him, do you feel like your falling in love with him.

"I don't know honestly, maybe I am but, with time I want to make sure he is the right man for me" she said. " I just want don't rush things I'm not ready for"

Uh huh" he said as he listened attentively then wrote down again.

"You know I never understand what you guys always write down there" she pointed to the notebook.

"Just important notes that we can down that can use for the following sessions" he slightly laughed.

"Oh I always thought you guys would get bored listening to our problems and start doodling nonsense" she sat up. "Anyways thanks so much doc for listening to my insane stories"

"No problem Rebecca" he said. "Till next time"

"Till next time doc" she said leaving the room.
