Baby Hau tiem

Fanfic writer's note: why has this story spiked from 1k to 2k, I'm not even good at writing. I wanna say thanks though and I might be longer because I have HW... Also flashback time~~~~~

9 year old Hau's POV;
"Rowlet? I'm gonna find you..." I was playing hide and seek with Rowlet and he usually is easy to find but I can't find him. Maybe he's over near route 1, but I'll ask dad and gramps first. I go back to dad and gramps who were talking outside and run over to them. "Daddddd, Grammmpsss, can go find Rowlet at route 1? I'll be back quickly! Pretty please?" Gramps and dad look at me.
"Absolutely not-"
"Of course! As long as you come back in time for us to go to the Malasada shop!"
"Yay! Thanks dad!" I rush out the door and before I close it I hear them say something. "Why do you still have that job when you can be Kahuna?"
"Dad for the last time I don't want-"
Their voices were muffled and quieter, so I guess they went to talk somewhere else. Weird. I headed to route one and looked around. Hmm, if I was a Rowlet where would I be? I know! I walk over to the nearest berry tree and find Rowlet, peacefully sleeping near some eaten berries. "Oh Rowlet, stop messing around, I found you!" I lift him out of the berries and shake him a bit. He wakes up and happily koos and flys onto my head. I can't believe I got him last week for my birthday. He hasn't learned any new moves yet but I believe in him! "Alright Rowlet, let's go back to dad and-"
"HELP!!!"
I heard a girls voice not too far off. I hear dad calling for me though. Dad says I always have to help everyone no matter what. But he does tell me to listen to him. I'm so gonna get in trouble for this. "Come on Rowlet let's go!" I ran to where I heard the yell and Rowlet almost fell off my head.

When I got there there was a blonde haired girl who looked slightly younger than me in white clothes, who was trying to scoot away with an injured Lillipup. A blue haired kid also close to my age was walking towards her. "Hey give me that Lillipup! I'm not done playing with it!"
"YOU WERE HITTING IT WITH A STICK!"
"WELL IT GOT IN MY WAY!"

She grabbed a nearby stone and stood up. She looked like she scraped her knee and was trembling. So I intervened. "ROWLET, USE PECK!" He gave the boy a peck to the head and it caught him off guard. "Hey! Stop that! Who are you?" I point to myself. "I'm Hau and you better stop being mean or I'll challenge you to a battle!" He smiled. "Sure, I can beat you. Get out Salandit!" He opens his ball and out comes a salandit. I don't have the type advantage, what now? I guess I try to hold him off. "ROWLET USE LEAFAGE!" He lands the hit but the Salandit looks unfazed. "Ha! You can't even battle! This is gonna be so easy. Salandit, use ember!" He gets Rowlet and bring him down to barely above half health. I grit my teeth. If I get Rowlet to drop his defense low enough, we might be able to take him out with one peck "Rowlet, use leer!" And his defense dropped down. "Grr, Salandit use tackle!" He misses and And stops his foot. "YOU STUPID LIZARD! ILL GET HIM MYSELF!"The boy grabs a rock and aims for Rowlet. It hits and brings him below half health. "HEY, THATS CHEATING!" The blue haired boy sticks his tongue out. "So? Who's gonna tell on me?" I ball up my fist. He hurts Pokémon and people. As much as I want to punch him I didn't. "You all right, Rowlet?" He gives me a confident trill and we continue the battle. "Rowlet! Use leer again!" I think his defense is low enough where I can get him in one blow. As long as ember doesn't hit-"Salandit, use ember to finish it!" Salandit hits Rowlet. Hard. He falls to the ground with a tumble. "ROWLET!"
Nothing.
"Ha, guess I won. You're so weak."
I was about to bring out my poke-ball and rush to the poke center, but I hear something shuffle. Trembling, Rowlet starts getting up and flying. We still have a chance! But he was barely up, it looked like the slightest breeze was gonna make him faint. I could attack but it might miss and he'll finish me. And I didn't bring and berries or potions. Then I hear the girl say something to me.
"H-Hau! Catch!"
The girl in the white dress threw me a potion.  I caught it and quickly sprayed it on Rowlet. His wounds were instantly healed and looked ready to go. The boy looked scared for a moment and it turned into anger. "THATS NOT FAIR! YOU CANT USE OTHERS ITEMS! HEY GIRL, GIMME A POTION TOO!" He points to the girl. "He's not cheating! I gave it to him and you can't have it!" He seems mad and looks distracted. Now's the time!"Rowlet! Let's finish it off with peck!" The boy looks back at the battle and stumbles! "SALANDIT HURRY UP AND DODGE—" But he was too late, Rowlet got a critical hit on Salandit and it went down. The boy gets his poke ball out and calls Salandit back. starts running and before he's out of our view he yells to us. "JUST WAIT TILL MY FATHER HEARS ABOUT THIS!" and runs off.

I grin as he leaves. We won, we actually won. "WE DID IT ROWLET!" He flies to me and I give him a big hug and he returns it. I put him on my head and walk over to the girl, and the Lillipup ran away. I guess it was a wild one. "Hey! Are you alright?" The girl smiles. "I am now. Thank you. You're actual name is Hau, right? Like the city?"
"Mhmm! And what's your name?"
"Lillie." I extend my hand to her. "Thanks for the potion Lillie! Do you wanna be friends?" She smiles and grabs my hand as I pull her up. "Y-Yes please!" When she stands up I hear her wince. Her knee was still scraped and started bleeding again. "I don't have any bandages, but my dad does!" As if on cue, I hear my dad calling for me. He sounded super worried. "Dad! Over here!" I heard his big footsteps and he charges forward to hug me. "There you are! You had me and gramps so worried! We don't wanna lose you like your mom..." But then all of a sudden he lets go. "But that doesn't get you off the hook, you're in big trouble mister! No Malasada shop today!" I tear up a little. "But dad-" he puts his hands on my cheeks. "No means no, unless you have a good excuse."
"Um, mister..." he's looks over to Lillie as if he didn't notice her. "And who are you?" She shyly turns away from him before she speaks. "He was helping me and a Lillipup from a mean boy with a Salandit. He fought him off with Rowlet and won. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get him in trouble..." Dad looks back at me. "Is this true, Hau?" I furiously nod. He gives me the 'You better not be lying or you'll be grounded for the rest of your life' look. "Ok, I'll unground you, but this is the only time. He walks over to Lillie and kneels before he puts his hand gently on her head. "Missy, what's your name?"
"Lillie, sir."
"Oh so your Lusamine's kid, huh?"
"...Yes sir."
"Figures, she always talks about you and your brother to me, so about this; We'll take you to our place in Iki town, put a bandage on that owie, and call your mother to see if you wanna come with me and Hau to eat Malasadas?" She ponders a bit before answering. "How do you know mother?" Dad smirks.
"She's my boss. I go around the world to bring Pokémon that are in need to the Aether Foundation and she gives me the resources to do that." And he opens his wallet to show her his Aether ID card. "So what do ya say?"
"That'd be great!" He gives her his signature goofy grin and stands up. "Okay let's get moving. Can you walk or do you want me to carry you?"
"I think I'm fine..."
"Okay if you're sure. Iki town isn't that far, so come on." Dad starts walking ahead so I grab Lillie's hand. "Hurry up! He won't stop for us you know." I lead her to Iki town with dad and get to our house. We open the door and I see Gramps pacing back and forth. "Hi Gramps-"
"Hau! You are in big troub-" Then before Gramps say more Dad stops him and explains everything.
After he explains it, Gramps walks over. "Young man, that was a very brave thing to do, but please don't be rash. Not let's get you," as he picks up Lillie. "A bandage for that scrape. You go call your... boss." Dad nods and goes to the home phone. I set down Rowlet on the couch and go to the bathroom to get a clean hand towel and put a bit of water on it. I walked over to Gramps and Lillie. Gramps had just put a bandaid on her, but she still had some dirt on her. "Here, I got a towel for you." I hand it to Lillie and she after she thanks me she dabs it on the dirt spots like a princess. She does act like one a bit, I wonder why? Then Lillie whispers to me.
"So is your Grandpa really the Kahuna?"
"Yeah! Isn't that cool?" She stares in amazement. "Wow! What do you think it's like, being one?"
"I don't know, but the way he battles is amazing!" Then another voice joins in.
"It's a very honorable job."
Me and Lillie turn to see Gramps. "And when Hau is the right age he's gonna have to take on me." Then dad walks in. "Well, after letting your mother worry and crying about you for a while, she says you can go with us as long as you are back by evening. You're a lil' troublemaker aren't you? She said that you were supposed to be with your brother..." Lillie puffs her cheeks a little. "Yeah, but he was hanging out with someone else, probably his girlfriend." Dad smirked. "Hau's friend also hasn't been visiting as much. maybe you can hang with both of them next time. But are you guys ready to go?" Me and Lil's jump up from the couch in excitement. "Yes yes yes!"  I grab Rowlet and put him on my head while I push Lillie and Dad our the door and we start heading to Hau'oli city.

I didn't know at the time but after that we became super close and did everything together. We even played with Lillie's brother sometimes. And Moon played with us a lot but when she wasn't she was playing with Lillie's brother. We had so much fun together...
