Okay, I know people are gonna get confused later in the story so I am going to make a list of several characters names and ages to straighten things out.
Jessamine— Age 24
She moved in with Lee after Eddie's death to help her mother out. She tried applying for law school, but was rejected.
Lee— Age 38-39
Granted, he may be younger than Paula, but he was still a responsible young man when Eddie was alive, proving a good father to him. He has almost no relationship with Jess and sometimes pretends she isn't there.
Paula—Age 43
Despite being Mentally broken down by Eddie's death Paula still kept her good looks at bay. She knew not taking care of herself wouldn't bring her son back so she tries (and usually fails) to get herself back under control.
