"Hi Lori" I greeted the lady at the front desk. The brunette turned back to me and smiled.

"Hi Jess! Here to see your mother again?" She asked. I nodded and she called one of the nurses over. She was much younger with blue eyes and red hair. I could see her name tag—Sugar Bennet. Weird-ass name.

"Take Miss Reeves to see Paula, in room #64, fourth door on the left of the 9B Hall. Got that, Sugar?" She spoke quickly, as if she were calling out orders from a 1950's diner. Sugar nodded and beckoned me to follow her.

I have seen these white and blue hallways so many times, I wouldn't need a guide to Mom's room. However the hospital just wants to ensure I don't get attacked by other patients. Not like it hasn't happened before.

My first time here, I was with Lee. He tried to protect me from any delusional creeps that came our way.
One guy tried to kiss me thinking I was his wife (even though he killed her) and I kicked him in the nuts.
There were so many weirdos and freaks you can mistake this place for a prison if it weren't for the doctors and caretakers pulling them back to their rooms.

"Paula...Jessamine's here to see you..." I heard Sugar say as she peeked in through a large white door. She turned to me again.
"She's ready for you. Call if she gets violent." Was all she said before letting me in.

My mom looked better than the last time I visited. Her eyes didn't look like raccoon eyes from lack of sleep, so that meant she was sleeping. Her blonde hair was tightly knotted into a bun and she looked like she'd been eating more as she wasn't as thin under her blue grey hospital clothes as she used to be.

Every time I see my mother, she appears to be getting better and better. At least, physically. In her head and heart she's just as shattered as I was about Eddie's death.

"Hi Mom" I greeted her, taking a seat across from her while she sat on the boringly white bed. She looked up at me and smiled. The same smile Eddie had.

"Hello Jessa" She replied. We were close enough for a hug, but she only put her hand in mine. "How is Lee?"

"He's fine." I said. She placed a picture in my hand. It was a photo of Eddie as a baby. It was the only picture the hospital allowed her to keep. I guess they thought it would help her get better.

"I understand you also came here to tell me something..." Her tone was getting serious as she piped up.

"Yeah" I concurred. "I wanna ask you about what you saw that day. The day you 'found Eddie's body'...." I did air quotes at the last bit.

"I didn't find it, I caught it." Mom replied. I nodded. "I caught the bag with my baby Eddie's body parts in it after it was thrown from God knows where. Then I heard a man's voice saying 'You're Welcome!' The bastard!"

I nodded listening to her rant. I know she got emotional talking about it, but I'd been planning this for a whole year and I needed all the details I can get.

"Listen, I know the picture looked airbrushed out, but I remember what I saw with my own eyes and I don't care who believes me. It is without a doubt that your brother was murdered by demons. I saw the horns, the eyes, and the fangs just before they vanished.
I tried to tell them. But they said I was mad with grief!! Then they locked me up here!"

Mom began panicking and that was when I jumped in to calm her down. She started to relax as she looked at me with those bloodshot baby blue eyes.

"You still believe me, Don't you Jess?"

The sound of her voice had a hint of desperation looming in it. Almost as if my belief was the only thing keeping her from completely losing it. And I guess it kind of was.

"Of course I still do Mom." I told her with sincerity in my eyes. She smiled sadly before hugging me. I hugged back with tears in my eyes. It broke my heart every time she got like this. For me, it only means that her mind is disappearing even further, our vengeance for Eddie keeping it alive.

"Promise me Jess" she whispered. "Promise me you'll find those demons and kill them. For me and for Eddie."

"I promise...For you and Eddie..."

I swear on Eddie's grave, I am gonna track them down and do to them what Dean Winchester did to Azazel...
