Selena, please come to my office. There is someone here to see you.
Goddamn P.A system always interrupting when I was doing something important like sleeping in late on a Saturday. Groaning, I got up and got dressed. I probably didn't look good because I didn't have many clothes and was still half asleep so I'm pretty sure my shirt was on backwards but I didn't give two shits. As I made my way down to the supervisor's office I heard a girl named Allison telling a boy named Finn that it was over between them. I grinned. I've heard her say that to him at least four times and every time I find them with their faces stuck together at the lips about an hour later.
I hated going to the supervisor's office for two reasons. The first being that the new supervisor, Mrs. Glomb but everyone just called her Sir, was a royal bitch with a huge stick up her ass. the second being that when I was usually called down I was getting in trouble for something I did.
Her door was open which was odd. She hated people looking in on her working. There was someone else in there with her, a man by his voice, most likely a cop.If I was lucky the cop might be here to take to a new orphanage. I quietly entered the room which caused the chatter between the two adults to cease. "You must be Selena," said the man as he stood up and shook my hand. He definitely wasn't a cop, maybe a solider judging by his haircut and biceps. All I could do was nod in response. "You look a lot like your dad," he mentioned while sitting back down.
"You know my dad?" I asked a little too quickly.
"Yeah I know him. Actually I'm here to take you to him if you want. By the way my name is Steve," the man now known as Steve answered.
"Steve, get me the hell out of here!"
After Steve finished filling out some paperwork and I finished packing up what little stuff I owned, he lead me out the front door to the loud street of New York City. There was a car waiting for us at the curb which made me hesitate. This was just a side effect from watching to many spy movies at two in the morning. It was a really fancy car too, like a cross between a limo and a Chevy Camaro. For some reason my instincts were screaming at me to just go back to the orphanage but I got in the car anyway. You could say that was my first big mistake.
"So, um where are we going?" I asked Steve as the car pulled away.
He didn't answer for what seemed like forever. It seemed like he was trying to find the right words but also studying me as f to see what would be the best move for him if I attacked. I guess knew about my reputation at school. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you."
I leaned back against the leather seat and crossed my arms. " Try me. After what I've been through I don't find many things surprising."
He sighed and said "We're going to Avengers Tower." He chuckled after that due to the fact that my jaw was hanging down and my eyes were widened. Obviously I was very surprised.

"Where's Steve? He should have been back by now with the kid." Tony Stark was not a man to be kept waiting. Everyone at the Tower knew that and that he didn't like being handed things and that he, on occasion, acted like a whinny five year old. It was lunch time at Avengers Tower and everyone that felt like eating was in the kitchen getting ready to eat or, in Thor's case, already stuffing their faces with food.
"Probably ran into traffic on the way back. How old is the kid anyway?" replied Clint.
"She should be sixteen," answered Loki from the back of the room, "and agent Barton I expect you've told your own daughter to not attack mine." Clint's daughter, Carter, was sixteen as well and just like her mother Natasha, was good with a gun.
"Dude, I'm right here you know!" Carter interrupted clearly annoyed. Tobias, Steve's son, who was sitting next her munching on a sandwich, giggled at that.
"Loki, the only reason that we agreed to bring your kid is because she needs her parents and you can't go see her yourself 'cause you just had to go and invade New York, lose and get put under house arrest," Clint said which got an amazing glare from the god of mischief.

Steve walked me up through the building all the while telling me how I was going to love living here and to just give my dad a chance even though no matter how many time I asked him, he refused to actually tell me who my dad was. After he finished explaining where all the labs and training rooms were, he stopped at a door and looked down at me. We walked up so many stairs that I was used him being taller than me, but I forgot that was, genuinely, a really tall guy. "Listen Selena, I know it's going to be a bit hard at first but if you ever need help with anything don't be afraid to ask me. You could even ask you dad, I think he would really appreciate that. Ready?" he asked. All I could think was if my dad would appreciate me asking him for help then why the hell didn't it come to him that maybe I would have appreciated it if he didn't leave me to rot in an orphanage. I took a deep breath, I should be happy about meeting my family no matter what, I readjusted the backpack that had all my stuff in it on my shoulder and nodded.
We walked into what seemed to be the kitchen. Everyone there greeted Steve which left me to stand awkwardly next to him for a few seconds. It really was amazing though. All the Avengers were there, it seemed a little weird to see them in their suits but then again they are people too. There were two kids there as well. One was a girl with about shoulder length dark drown hair and blue eyes. The other was a boy that looked about the same age as the girl. He had short blond hair and the same blue eyes. If I had to guess this kid was Steve's son but the girl was a little harder. The slightly curly hair plus the brown color indicated that she might be the woman who had about the same length, red hair's daughter. On the other hand she did look a bit like the man with short light brown hair. With this in mind I just figured that both of them were her parents. She was sitting on a stool so I could see that by her ankle, there was a slight bulge in the shape of a straight line. She was carrying a knife, great, well at least I knew not to underestimate her. I was so caught up in trying to figure out who these two kids were that I didn't realize someone had walked up to me.
"I couldn't help but notice the fact that you found Carter's hidden weapon. Don't worry she always carries something around with her," the man said making me jump a little. I turned to see who exactly it was that was talking to me. He had slightly long raven hair and piercing green eyes just like me only except my hair went all the way down my lower back. He was wearing black denim jeans and a dark green t-shirt. "I'm Loki by the way," he said holding out his hand.
"Selena," I replied taking his hand and shaking it,"I'm sorry but did you say Loki? As in the Norse god Loki?" I asked. He simply smirked and nodded. My head was spinning, I had just met a god and shook his head. To be honest Loki was my favorite god. We learned all about him along with all the other Norse gods in my mythology class. "Does that mean that all the other Norse gods are real?" I asked again.
"Unfortunately, yes. As a matter of fact, that man over there is the mighty Thor," he said, pointing to the man that had shoulder length wavy blond hair, his English accent dripping with sarcasm. I giggled because Thor just happened to be stuffing his face with food making it go all over his face. I looked back at Loki. He looked as if he had lost something close to him. In that moment I realized that this man was my dad. I guess he noticed that I picked up on that because he said, "I know Rogers told you he was bringing you here so you could meet your father but I truly wish that the circumstances were different. I just wish.." I couldn't take it anymore. I threw my arms around him and hugged him tight. After a second or two he started to hug me back.
"I don't care. I'm just glad you wanted to see me."
