Two Is Better Than One

More than a month and a half had passed by since their trip. Raksh's school was starting soon and Avni took him to the tailor's to get his school uniform stitched. They were to get the school books the next day. Raksh had fidgeted about having to wait till his measurements were being taken but one glare from his mother made him stand still.. After a visit to the tailor's, they went to the mall to shop for his school bag and school shoes. Raksh ran to the bag store and into every corner while Avni waited for him. The man in the billing counter noticed this.

Man : Here for your son's school supplies ?

Avni : Yes.

Man : Why don't you go and shop for his shoes ? The shop is just beside mine.. Let him look around for his school bag. He'll be safe here.

Avni : No no. You don't know him. He looks like an angel but a devil in disguise. If I am not here, he's sure to split the shop into two. Its for your security that I am here.

The man paled at her words.. He turned back to checking the purchases made for that particular day. Raksh came to his mother with his choice.. They paid for it and went to the show store next. Raksh was trying on shoes while Avni had gone to the ladies section and was now looking at the peeptoes and pumps. She wanted to get a pair of peeptoes for herself. She decided on the golden peeptoes and went to Raksh.

Avni : New shoes Mowgli. Please don't ruin them in a few days.

Raksh : I don't ruin them. They do it themselves.

Avni : Yeah... And I am Wonder Woman.. Come on.. Let's go..

They left the mall and went home. Shweta was waiting for them. Raksh sat beside his grandmother and showed her all that they had got today. Shweta listened to his every word about his brand new Pokemon bag and his words about the different animals and a boy named Ash. Avni felt nauseous and excused herself stating she was tired. She walked up the stairs and into the room. She went into the restroom and threw up. She couldn't understand. She had feeling tired since two days.. It must have been something that she ate.. But it couldn't be.. She'd been eating normal food. It couldn't be due to food. Bebe came into the room and saw Avni sweating. She sat beside her.

Bebe : Avni.. What happened ?

Avni : I don't know Bebe. I am feeling tired.. I've been feeling tired since two days. I threw up just now..

Bebe : Did you eat something that didn't suit you ?

Avni : No Bebe.. Normal food.. What I eat everyday.. And am sure I did not eat anything that I am allergic to.

Bebe : Let me call the doctor.

Avni : Its fine Bebe.. Just some sleep and I'll be fine..

Bebe : Are you sure ?

Avni : Yes Bebe..

Bebe : Ok.. But have lunch before you get some rest.. I was going down anyways.. Come with me.

Avni : Sure Bebe.

Avni got up to go for lunch but swayed lightly on spot.. She caught her forehead and tried to steady herself.. Her eyes started to lose focus and when they couldn't see any more, she fell on the floor unconscious. 

She regained consciousness sometime later and found herself on the bed. Four worried faces surrounded her.. Bebe, Prakash, Shweta and Neil.. Wasn't he supposed to be at work ?? She tried to get up but was forced back down by Shweta.

Shweta : You just lay down..

Avni : Mmm... What happened to me ?

Bebe : You fainted. All of a sudden.. We've called the doctor..
