Wedding Celebrations

It was Friday night. Avni fell asleep right after dinner. Raksh had given her a hard time that day by getting himself dirty while playing football and making a mess of the kitchen successfully chasing Bhima away from there. He also had an exam on Monday so Neil was helping him. She was sound asleep when Neil entered their room. He smiled at her sleeping form. He thought back to the time of their first meet. He had called her a Panauti. Now that he thought of it, he realized that Avni was the best thing that ever happened to him. He kissed her forehead. It was a special day tomorrow. He wanted to surprise her at midnight. Raksh came into the room, dressed in his pajamas. Neil raised his questioning eyebrows at him. His father came running behind.

Raksh : Am all ready to sleep.

Prakash : Why don't you sleep with us today, Mowgli ?

Raksh : I want to sleep with Mama and Papa.

Prakash : But Mowgli... We can watch your favourite movies, drink your dadi's special chocolate milk, eat Bebe's handmade snacks. You don't want to miss that, do you ?

Raksh thought for sometime. His mind gave into the idea of his grandfather's. He kissed his father Good Night and left the room. Neil closed the door and looked at Avni.

Avni felt something run down her cheek. Her adventures with danger had made her alert even with the slightest of moments. She woke up to punch whoever it was but a strong pair of arms pinned her hands to either side of the bed and a husky voice whispered "I wouldn't if I were you, Mrs. Khanna" Avni visibly relaxed. It was the voice that she had fallen in love with. She looked up at him with a smile. He was hovering above her with a rose in his hands. His eyes were burning with love and passion as he traced the rose softly over her face. Her eyes closed and she let out a moan of pleasure. He brought one hand to his lips and kissed it.

Neil : Happy Anniversary Wifey

Avni brought her hands up and cupped his face. She traced his stubble with her thumb and brought his face closer to hers. Lips met. The kiss was soft, tender and full of love. She pulled back.

Avni : Happy Anniversary Hubby Boy.

She pushed him off of her and got up. The room was decorated with photos of the couple. Photos of beautiful moments they spent together.

Avni : Neil. Its lovely..

Neil : Dance with me..

Avni : What ??

He held out a hand for her to take. Her cheeks tinted a soft pink as she took her husband's outstretched hand. His hand rested on her waist and they slowly danced their way to the soft music. Memories of their first dance surfaced to both of them. Circumstances unlike the one they were in, now. As the song ended, he dipped her low and pressed a kiss to her neck. He carried her to the bed and laid her on it. Both simply lay on the bed holding hands.

Avni : I missed this. Your warmth, us holding hands.

Neil : I am here now.

Avni : Neela Maa would have been so happy to see us happy.

Neil : She's watching over us, Avni. So is Ayesha Maa. Even Ashish Ji.

Avni : Even though he wasn't much of a father figure to me, he did love me. He did love my mother though he never had the guts to give her rights she deserved.

Neil : They are all there Avni. Watching over us.

Avni : Yes.

Neil : So..

Avni : So what ?

He brought their entwined hands to his lips and kissed it.

Neil : So next..

Avni : Next is we should sleep..

Neil : What !!!

Avni : What happened ??

Neil : I didn't just send Mowgli to Papa's room so that we can have a Good Night's sleep.

Avni understood where Neil was getting at.. She smiled slyly.

Avni : What are you going to do, Mr. Khanna?

Neil : How about I show you, Mrs. Khanna ?

With that, he got on top of her and looked at her with intensity. She looked back with the same intensity. He took her lips with his. The kiss was a passionate unlike the soft tender one Avni gave.

Neil : Do you think the others can manage Mowgli tomorrow morning??

Avni : Neil !!!

Neil : What !!! Mowgli's parents can be busy too, you know..

With that he pulled the sheets over them as he kissed her. Needless to say, they were late that morning for breakfast. Raksh was waiting, all dressed and ready for breakfast.

Raksh : Happy Anniversary Papa and Mama.

Avni and Neil : Thanku Baby.

Raksh : Why are you late today ?

Both Neil and Avni blushed a brilliant shade of red. They tried to give an answer but none would come out. Shweta understood the situation.

Shweta : Pillu. Your parents worked till late night. That's why they overslept.

He seemed to buy that answer and sat down for breakfast. Avni and Neil let out a relieved breath.

Neil : Actually we did work till late night. She's not wrong.

Avni punched him slightly and joined the others.

Bebe : Happy Anniversary to the both of you.

Prakash : Happy Anniversary kids.

Shweta : Happy Anniversary Tillu and Avni.

Avni and Neil : Thankyou..

Prakash handed something to Neil. Neil took it and read it

Neil : Trip to Coorg ?? Our honeymoon place..

Shweta : Anniversary gift.. You three are leaving next weekend. Reminisce your memories.

Bebe : Yes. But be careful what memories you reminisce with Pillu.

Avni and Neil blushed but managed to hide it.

Avni : But Maa.

Shweta : No excuses. Pillu's vacations are starting next week. Take a break na.

Raksh : Yay !! Vacation !! I can't wait to tell my friends. I am thinking about what all I can do there.

Avni : Complete your studies first. Your exam is on Monday. You can think about Coorg later.

Raksh : Hmph... Ok fine..

Avni : Listen Mowgli. If you finish your studies, we can go and visit Saisha today.

Raksh's face brightened at the thought of meeting Saisha. He finished his breakfast and went up to his room along with his parents to study.
