The brochure said that the bridge was a better sight when those leaves fell, forming a red carpet. It felt like the newly installed floor mat inside the new metro train. She doesn't recall why she chose this kind of place to meet him. Her skin tingled, as the evening breeze swept past her besides delivering that heavenly smell of oven-fresh bean buns, somewhere beyond the bridge. The sound of the river hummed her favourite song from that boy band. She was not sure, so she assumed that the river had rough currents enough to compete with the latin pop band. She must be crazy, she thought. As she gripped the handle of the bridge, her eyes wavered to the asymmetrically cut-rocks, thanks to so many accidents that the cliff had experienced over the years. Beauty always comes with a price, you know. Ah. It only took her back to the days when she climbed her first mountain. Heavens! How she still lived the moment with a scar on her knee reminding her constantly from time to time. In fact, she turned out much better that she cancelled all her future appointments with the psychiatrist.
She pictured herself, setting up a campfire, singing like a madwoman and sleeping under the stars after gorging up an entire chicken by herself. Not to forget those blasting burps! She remembered coming across a similar kind of place few years go, on a trip with her girlfriends. She didn't get to explore because she and her company was craving beer to beat the snow after all that running from the boar, down the cliff. Nah-ah. Don't you underestimate her. She played football. Such a tomboy, you could think. Guess what, you're correct.
She was that invincible hero in her book.
Why would she confide in this lonely figure of a bridge amidst the woods, a few kilometres from one of the remotest parts of the country?
What was it this time? A boar? A tiger? A herd of elephants? Or a man? Exactly. Something that happened that involved a member of the masculine community. Albeit, a human.
She was not afraid. Instead, she was devastated and wanted to punch the daylights out of that man. She quite believed she was really going to.
Will she do the deed?
