TLOGA chapter 14

“Leo?Where do you see Leo?He isn’t in here with us.”Misty said.

“The picture,he’s in-”I looked back at it,but he was gone.I mentally shook my head.

“What about the picture?”

“Nothing.Let’s just get on with whatever you have in store for us.”

She looked at me like she was trying to figure out what I was thinking but then thought better of it.

“This book is filled with prophecies,as you should know.Some have been completed.Others wait to be finished.”

“So,how many of these things are there?”David asked.

“There are only five in the world,including this one.But they are only five pieces to a whole.Well,actually this one is like a summary of all of them.”

“And you’re telling us this because...”

“You two are in a picture in the book.Doesn’t it seem strange?”

“Continue,please.”I said.“The faster we end this,the faster I can get to try out something.”

“Alright.Okay,this is a summary,yes,but it acts like one of the four parts.It has mostly important prophecies.But,there’s a secret to it and the other four pieces that I’m sure no one who has one of the four knows.There’s a key hole in the spine,”she closed the book and turned it over so that we could see the tiny hole.It was barley visible since the book had a dark cover.“If you have a key or something small enough to open it,it will show you all prophecies,thus acting like one whole book.”

I watched as Misty took a small white key from the folds of her dress.She held it up so we could see it and then inserted it into the hole.After she turned it three times clockwise,I heard a series of clicks.

“Now the book is different.The pages,”she opened the book again and ran her fingers lightly over the pages.I thought that they were solid but as her fingers brushed over them,they rippled as if they were made of water instead of paper.“Change like that.”

“How is that special?”I asked,staring in awe.

“It isn’t,really.It’ll die down.It just has to get everything processed into it.By the way,don’t keep your finger in it when it’s watery like this.Your fingers can get trapped.”

“Wow.What a fine little book you got there.”

We waited.Then the clicking stopped.

“Okay,let’s see.”Misty started flipping through the pages.Then she stopped at one page.“Here!Look at this.”

She handed the book to me and David.I took it and stared at it.

“This is just a list of names.”David said.

It was true.Adrian,Andrew,Alexandria,Amanda,Austin,etc.

“Touch one.”

I gingerly touched one.The name Amelia lit up.The names under it disappeared and other names appeared.Jackson,Shaw,Carter,Wilson,Lee.I looked at David and then touched the name Mason.Everything on the page disappeared.Then something different appeared.

Amelia Kathrine Mason.Born October 16th,1993.

Amelia will grow up to be a strong and powerful woman.She will have her own talk show and be nicknames as ‘the new Oprah’.She will also join the acting career and have over 10 billion dollars.Her husband will give her three kids,two of which are males.

After retiring from her talk show at the age of 55,she will take on the job of designing clothes and making her own clothing lines,which will give her more amounts of money.

Amelia will die peacefully in her sleep at the age of 93.She will have lived to see her great-grandchildren.

There was a whole lot more but I’d rather not read it all.I just read the little summary at the bottom.

“Wow.”I said.

“Try Jared.”David said.

I found him after flipping through a few pages.

Jared Logan Richards.Born January 3rd,1994.

Jared will have a rough life after he graduates high school.He’ll skip college and try taking up the construction career.In that career path,he will cause 9 injuries and 1 death.

After being fired,he takes the job of a janitor in his old high school.After a year,he’ll go back to college.Jared will graduate and become a firefighter.He will be the ‘man candy’ of the town.Girls will hang around him at clubs and his house.He will break many hearts.

Jared will marry at 38 and have one child.He will die at the age of 47 after being murdered by a crazy ex-girlfriend.

“Girls.”David sighed.

“Hey!”me and Misty said.

“Sorry.”

“So,what now?”I asked.

“Here’s a copy of the key,in case you want to read anymore.I suggest you read the prophecy about you when you have the time.”a key exactly like the one that Misty had appeared around my neck.

“Okay,then.”

“Come on,Hailee’s fixing dinner.”

“Already?”

“Yes.The book does that to you.Once there was a guy that was reading all about his future.But he was reading too long and died.”

The book flew out of my hands.I held them up and watched as the book fell towards Misty.

“Careful,Mai!This is very fragile and ancient!”she cried,catching the book.

“Come on,let’s get some food.”David’s stomach growled as if saying,‘FOOOOOOOOD!!!!’

He put his arm around me.I grabbed Misty’s hand and pried her from the book.She reluctantly put it down and came with us.

“Oh,wait,I have to tie my shoe,”I said.“You guys go on.”

“Okay.”they said.

I bent down and tied my shoe.When I got up,I turned to look at the book.It was open to that picture again.I was about to turn away but then something caught my eye.When I saw what it was,I ran straight out of the room.

Picture Damon turned it’s head and smiled at me as if to say,‘I’m coming for you’.
