his mother disapproves.
of course, she's never liked you.you are a taint to her son's ivory image. you dilute his potential by always being at his side. why hasn't he brought home a girlfriend yet? too much time spent with you she reasons. he doesn't seem to care about anything but you.
no, she doesn't like you at all.
he loves his mother, but he doesn't give a damn what she thinks of you. she could seperate the both of you, hide him away in a distant faraway island, and you would still find a way to be with him.
when you were younger, he was the faster runner. he remembers how you stood no chance against him in races through the forest. how you'd grow panicked when he failed to respond to your echoing calls. how he'd wait and laugh and hide as you searched for him. looking back, it was a bit mean. he wonders why he was so confident that you would not simply give up and abandon him in the dense green foliage.
he realizes that it never crossed his mind because you never did it. abandonment was never an option. you'd search until you'd found him. either he'd grown tired and fallen asleep, or he'd let himself be found out of pity. but nonetheless, you'd always find him and greet him with the biggest smile on your face.
to him, a thousand stars on fire.
