Days passed with Dean and Zoey settling into a routine. They spent most mornings and nights together. They occasionally came out of isolation to hang out with their families, who were more than happy to see that they were closer to being official than they'd ever been. Dean would go out with his friends some days. Zoey worked way too often for his liking. It didn't bother him so much because it took her away from him (although that was part of it), but he also could tell how much she hated it.

And she was still denying that they were together but the truth about that was slowly coming to light.

She never asked him when he had to be back, to be real they barely discussed his career at all.

Until they were sitting at a diner for dinner on the Thursday night of Hyde second week of his stay, and Zoe was telling him about her day.

" I swear it took everything in me not to pop off this man, if you don't trust our -IMPECCABLE- service then don't come, it's as simple as that," she ranted about one of her customers who returned three times to have his coffee remade because he didn't believe they had used non-dairy creamer.

Dean shook his head. "I would've hated to be that man, I'm sure you were given him the eyes," he joked.

She kissed her teeth, fighting back a smile. She leaned back into her seat, and checked her phone for notifications. "How was your day?" she questioned.

"It was good," he reached across the table to grab her hand and she let him.

"I had a conference call and then I just played a little 2k with the bruhs," he replied. "That's good," she said, nodding her head. He was playing with her hand almost nervously so her suspicion was piqued. He wasn't looking her directly in the eyes and when he finally looked up he laughed at her confused expression.

Just as she was about to grill him he spoke up. "Okay look, I really should have said something before but they want me to fly out tomorrow to hit a couple of clubs for his promo party and then I have a few meetings next week," he said.

Zoe looked up at him for a few minutes, trying to process how to respond. She wasn't mad that he had to leave town even though she would miss him, realistically she wasn't attached to the point where some time apart would break her heart. It was probably healthy. But was this one of those man moments where she had to be extra for his ego? She tried to read his expression.

"Okayy," she finally said, then waited for his response. He looked disappointed for a few seconds so she reacted before he played it off. "I'll miss youuu," she said, pulling his hand towards her and kissing his knuckle. It was an intimate move. She smiled but looked down in embarrassment after she did it.

Dean was beaming. He was a real sucker for Zoe's affection because she so rarely initiated physical moves on him.

He slid over to her side of the booth. He couldn't remember why he'd given her space in the first place. "I'll be back before you know it," he promised. "But before I go, are you my girl?"
