♫Millie finished applying the rest of her makeup and then took her hair out of a ponytail before brushing through it. It was 9:15 so all she had to do was quickly change her outfit and take care of Winnie and then she was off! She was more nervous than excited, this was her first date..ever and this was a lot more pressure than she could imagine. She didn't know what the hell to talk about! But then again she never really knew what to say, so she just said random shit instead.
She quickly changed into a simple t-shirt and some skinny jeans. When she was dressed she walked out of her room and went downstairs to take care of Winnie. She thought about bringing the Winnie, but she wasn't sure if Benny would appreciate her bringing the small dog, so she decided against it.
She gave Winnie her dog food and took her outside so she could go to the bathroom and when Millie checked the time again it was 9:45 and she figured it was time to go. She grabbed her phone, wallet, and her keys before heading out of the door and into her car. She pulled up the directions and sent it to Finn just in case he couldn't find it and began driving to the beloved diner.
About 10 minutes later she arrived on the outskirts of town and soon saw the diner coming up ahead and Millie was getting more nervous with each second she got closer. When she parked her car in the parking lot she could feel her hands shaking. She didn't know why she was so incredibly nervous, it was just Finn... it's not like he was a celebrity or anything.
Millie got out of her car and walked over to the door nervously. She wasn't sure if he was here or not, but she had a feeling he was. When she was inside she scoped out the entire restaurant and spotted a mop of black curly hair sitting behind a menu in the corner that she knew belonged to Finn.
She walked over to the table and sat down across from him, and he put his menu down immediately and smiled at her. "Hi," He said. "Hello.. have you been waiting long?" She asked, not really sure of what she should say.
He shook his head, "No, not at all."
"Oh, good... sorry, I'm probably being so awkward, I don't really know what I'm supposed to say." She said while chewing the inside of her mouth nervously. Finn shrugged, "It's okay, I don't really know what to say either. We can figure it out, though."
Millie blushed and looked around the diner, it was fairly empty much to her surprise. Normally the diner would be alive with customers and waiters walking around quickly to serve their tables. But this morning it only had a few older couples and adults spread around.
Finn was glad the diner was somewhat empty, he really didn't want people coming and bothering them. There were only so many days where he could have peace and quiet away from the public, he only hoped today would be one of those days.
"Okay, you know this place better than I do. What do you recommend?" Finn asked, looking at her from behind his menu.
"Um.. Oh! The waffles are amazing.. think Eggos but ten times better. The chocolate chip pancakes are really good too, and..." She picked up her menu and quickly looked through it to see anything he might like. "Oh, and any of the omelets. But really anything you get here is amazing."
Finn nodded, taking in all of the information silently as he looked through the menu again before deciding on a plain waffle.
"I was going to bring Winnie so you could meet her, but I figured Benny wouldn't want a dog in here." Millie mentioned randomly, thinking about something she could say. Finn chuckled. "Yeah I don't think he would appreciate her in here."
