Chapter 10: A Miracle

As the Knight was closing in and the Blade came soaring at him, Taranza shut his eyes, bracing himself for impact, while a single tear rolled down his cheeks.

But nothing happened.

No tearing of webs.

No feeling of pain.

Nothing but...

A static atmosphere and the trembling of a foe.

Taranza finally dared to open his eyes again to see his shield fully in tact and the Knight stumbling backwards paralyzed. He teleported into the middle of the room before slowly disappearing in a shimmer of red and black until he finally vanished into dust in the shape of a heart.
Noticing the electric sparks behind him, Taranza turned around. Standing behind him with two scepters in hand, still brimming with energy, was a phantom of none other than Sectonia.
She was entirely purple with her eyes glowing slightly pinkish as she looked down upon Taranza.
Still in disbelief, he reached out his hand to her but the phantom already began fading and turning into a few pink and blue petals. 
"Sectonia..."
The wasp like queen smiled.
"You already know, don't you...?"
She gently nodded as her form turned into more petals.
"Thank you... I'll miss you."
Taranza now smiled as well.
A single pink and blue petal landed on his hand he reached out. Slowly closing it, he pressed the petals to his chest.
"Farewell.... my beloved."

Metaknight started waking up now, looking around for the morphed Knight. "He's gone, Metaknight. We made it."
Taranza smiled.
Susie and Magolor awoke now too and he immediately floated over to them and hugged them.
"Thank Nova you're ok..."
"Taranza? How did you...how did you win?" Susie asked seeing her destroyed Mech on the ground.
"I don't think I can take credit for that. Sectonia saved us. I'm not sure how but I summoned a phantom of her and she defeated that Knight."
"Wait, Sectonia?"
Taranza opened his hand and showed them the petals. "No doubt."

"I'm so sorry, that you couldn't bring her back to life. Instead we had to put up with that.... thing." Magolor said a bit downhearted. "That's alright." he replied. "She's still with me... so even now, I can still count on her... that's more than what I could've ever asked for."

Metaknight got up and walked over to Hyness. "I'll take care of this here. You three should get some fresh air. I'll meet up with you later in order to celebrate our little victory." he smirked as he left with Hyness.

"So you think you'll be fine?" Susie asked with mild concern.
"Now? Probably. I got to see her again. And she really would hate to see me be so harsh with myself. After all, I told her the same thing... so I can't just give up. I'll experience this life for both Sectonia and myself. I'm sure that what she would've wanted." This seemed to put Susie at ease. "I'm glad. So now... how about we go to one of the markets around. The gem apples are the best during this season."

"That sounds like a wonderful idea. Let's go everyone."

~And that is it, everybody. I finally got it done. I hope you liked it. I tried to make it easy for both Kirby fans and Kirby newbies to read. Some of the chapter titles are direct references, others are just flower/plant related in a way. I gotta say, some chapters were a bit difficult to write, especially the last two. (I can't write fight scenes to save my life). Feel free to let me know what I can improve and if you have anything in mind, you'd like to see me try to write, please leave suggestions in the comments.
