Ted's POV
Ted wasn't sure what to think of the professor. After all, he had just shot the singing, reanimated corpse of his ex-lover, but Ted had given up on being surprised at that point. When he'd heard his boss loudly singing about being choked by his wife that morning, he decided it would be best to suspend his disbelief and focus on survival. Speaking of survival, the barrel of Professor Hidgens' shotgun was now pointed at Ted's chest.
"I want you all to sing sixteen bars, right now!" He yelled, waving the gun at Ted and his coworkers. "Professor, we aren't aliens," Erica (or was it Emily? He wasn't sure) said, but Professor Hidgens just cocked his shotgun and moved closer. "Sing the beginning of Moana!" He commanded. Paul started singing, and Ted and the others joined in. After a few lines, they trailed off, and Paul muttered, "I didn't like that movie." The professor looked at the group in disappointment. "Alright," he said, "that was terrible."
For some reason, Ted felt a twinge of sadness at his disapproval. Even though it meant that he passed the test and didn't get shot, Ted still kind of wanted to hear Professor Hidgens compliment him. After all, Ted had an amazing voice, and he knew it. If the professor wasn't impressed, than Ted would just have to try harder. If he was going to stay in his house, Ted would need to earn his respect. That was the only reason he was so eager to please the professor.
Right?
