Author's note: okay thanks for reading. My co-writer is the author of Lilith's chapters. Her name is LoveULikeCrazy.
The day starts off normal. My best friend, Lilith, and I go for a quick six mile sprint.
Lilith, I guess, doesn't need to run, since she's a super computer. One would say that's cool, but I'm impervious.
After our six mile sprint, we head back home. I always look disappointed when we get to the house. It's a one floor house made mostly of wood except for the roof. There's no air conditioning and only a few windows are able to open. The rest were glued shut, for some odd reason. The screen doors are awful, and they're halfway to the ground, so basically useless.
Then I remember the Shack is just a decoy. In fact, it's a hologram hiding the mansion inside it. It really does pay off to have a super computer for a friend.
Lilith opens the door and sidesteps quickly. My lioness tackled me to the ground. She's a beautiful animal. She was the one thing I demanded for when I was captured. I wanted a companion, other than Lilith. The only reason I wanted her was, because I wanted someone that was made exactly like me.
What sets her apart from other animals, is that she's made of pure silver. She's strong enough for me to carry anything I would ever have use for.
"Down, Sugar." I command. She backs away ready to wait my next command.
We have a close bond, since I've raised her from a cub. She's the perfect killing animal, for the perfect killing soldier.
I pet her roughly and crave riding her just so I'll be able to see with her x-ray vision.
Adrian comes down the grand staircase. He greets us as he takes Lilith's hand. They've been together for about a year. The same time we escaped. I think she finally realized, even with the mixed DNA of the smartest people on earth, she can't handle everything on her own and she needs a partner.
Sometimes, I try not to think about the time I was in prison like a dog, other times I let it fuel me. So many bad memories, like, being injected with drugs to make you numb, sick, and blind.
I also recall a time when they gave me liquids that made me weak, then try to see if I was still impervious.
My most fond memory was when I was ten and thrown into a furnace to see if I would die or not.
I've been in the same room with Adrian for too long and his presence is irritating me. He's too sensitive to be a man, I think. I mean, he can be tough, but mostly he is a little girl who turns invisible, when he doesn't feel like talking.
I take a hint and leave when he winks at her. Sugar comes to my side and we head upstairs. Orlando bumps into me. He has brilliant brown skin almost matching mine on the darker side. He's not taller than Adrian, but still towers over me. Orlando has the million dollar smile that'll make any girl get down on her knees and beg for him. Not to mention brown eyes.
"You just got back from your jog?"
"I am here, aren't I?"
"I will come out there and beat you in a race someday." he teases.
Sometimes I think he just craves bringing out my competitive side.
I stifle a laugh. "Sure whatever."
"How about we race on animals?"
I make a smug face. "You sure?"
"Is the mighty soldier scared?" He baits.
