Lilith

"Thanks for helping wrap my leg." I tell him.

"Your Welcome."

I smile sleepily and start to drift off to sleep. Before I can sleep, he picks me up and carries me to the breed. He sets me down lightly and slids on behind me. I smile and nestle my head on his chest. Adrian pulls me close, I drift towards sleep.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

With those words, I falls into sleep.

I wake up screaming and crying. Adrian cradles me to his chest. I'm still sobbing when Maya runs in and grabs my hand to comfort. Orlando comes and sits on the edge of the bed, next to her.

"Where's Alai?"  I ask, jumping up and out of the room.

I whistle, but Alai doesn't come. I whistle louder. He still doesn't come. I whistle again desperately. When he doesn't come, I race outside. I whistle once more and Alai finally jumps through The Falls, completely wet. I sag against him in relief.

"I figured out that they're taking the videos of you guys and what they did to all of us when we were captured." I say, knowing they're behind me. I looked through my computer this morning and found it.

Orlando helps me up and pulls me into his arms. I relax into his embrace and the sobs come less frequently. I pull away and I trip, feeling my leg snap.

With an animalistic growl, Adrian sweeps me into his arms. He lays me gently on the bed. I grumble and try to sit up. Adrian gently, but firmly pushed me back.

"Why'd you growl?" Maya asks.

"I didn't growl."

"Yea, you did. " we all say.

"You guys are heading things."he growls.

"You did it again." We say in unison.

"Whatever you say your Majesty." Adrian says, bowing to Maya sarcastically.

"It's about time you noticed I run things around here." She agrees crossing her arms.

"I think we all know I'm in charge." I say.

Maya and Orlando start laughing.

"What?" I continue, "I couldn't let you keep lying to yourself."

We all laugh and I wince figuring I have a headache.

"Can someone get me some medicine for the pain? My head is killing me."

Maya leaves and then quickly comes back with two tylonal. Adrian is scratching his arm. The skin is moving under his hand.

He sits on the edge of the bed and I absentmindedly rub his arm while swallowing the pills. I drift in and out of sleep all day. When I'm finally fully awake, I see Adrian on his hands and knees with his back arched at an impossible angle.

All of his skin is rolling. Fur is coming in and out of his skin as he moans in pain.

I sit beside him. His head whips towards me. I can see that his face is morphing into a muzzle. He looks away quickly. I can feel the fear rolling off him in waves.

Suddenly, the fur stays, his arms and legs morph into animal legs with paws. He grows claws, canines and a tail. He slumps into the floor exhausted.

I scratch behind his ears as he rests. Adrian is now a white tiger with black stripes. Adrian pants heavily and Maya bursts into the room. She instantly goes to kick the animal, not knowing it's Adrian.

"Don't! It's Adrian!" I scream as she reaches him.

She literally skids to a halt and looks down at Adrian half smirking because she likes towering over him like he does her, and half in surprise. Adrian gets up slowly, still clearly tired from the change. I whistle and Alai comes in. He glances only for a moment as he comes to me.

"Hunt some food for Adrian please."

Alai turns and bounds out of here. Adrian rubs against me and purrs and Maya leaves picking up the hint. Then he licks my face. I giggle as he circles around me.

I love you and want to be with you forever. I hate it when you're not around. I don't know how to tell you though.

"Forever is a long time Adrian. Do you mean it?" I ask him after a sharp intake of breath.

Adrian whips around to face me. He stares at me with surprise in his green eye.

Of course, I mean it. I didn't know you understood me. Do you love me like I love you?

"Yes I do." I say aloud.

I-Ah!

He crouches on the floor in the path. His back arches are an impossible angle with impossible speed. He whimpers and I scoot over to him. I run my hands along his furry back. The fur starts leaving so I run his arms and face. His face is still in muzzle firm.

He tries to duck his head away, but I grab both sides of hours face and kiss his nose. His back relaxes for a moment then shoots higher than it was last time. He snarls in pain.

Finally, he's back to normal. He falls beside me and I gently push the hair out of his face. He sighs contently and moves his head closer. It's then I notice he has no clothes on. I flush scarlet and Orlando comes in the room.

"Can you, uh, get him some, um, clothes please?"

Orlando chuckles deeply and leaves. I continue to play with Adrian's hair, but I keep my face turned away. Orlando comes in with clothes and behind him trails Maya.

"You know he's trying to get with you right?" Maya teases, raising her eye brow.

"Maya!" I exclaim, flushing brighter.

"Your face is so red." She laughs.

Orlando finally hands the clothes to Adrian and they leave.

"Don't get pregnant." Maya teases.

I throw a pillow at her as she leaves.

I move to leave him in privacy, but Adrian grabs my arm.

"Don't leave."

"Fine, but I'm not watching you dress."

"I can live with that."

When Adrian is done he comes and sits beside me.

"I didn't want you to see what a mess my face was."

"I love you and you can't get rid of me."

He pulls me my feet then kneels into one knee. I gasp at him. He has to be playing me.

"I got this a while ago hoping to give it to you, but you got mad at me. Then we had to go deep in hiding and I couldn't find the right time. I finally realized time was never gonna be perfect, but I wanna do this now. Lilith Rose Smith, will you marry me?"

He places a simple diamond ring on my finger. I gape at him a moment longer then gather my voice.

"Yes!" I exclaim and kiss him.

He gets up and spins me around. Maya comes in, searching for something. She sees the stupid grin on my face and I show her my ring.
