The NeverEnding War pt 2

A universe wide bounty had been placed on us after the events in Chapelhill. The civillians of Grullo were very thankful of us. We had helped defend the city until we had gotten knews of where the darkness fragment was, once news was out the DRC was in that direction. The fragment was being held in the center of Grullo inside of a cave. Sounded easy, well the cave was filled with crystals of dark energy that could kill an entire army if broke. Grullo also happened to have an outbreak of the bio plague released on Earth.
During our wait we helped improve many towns in Grullo. We were able to get working electricity, food  water, resources, and escape routes off planet to those civillians who wanted to leave.

     Quinn(The day of Departure)
I really hated Grullo, no I hated everything since I had been infected. Here recently though I have felt like I did before contracting the disease. I could finally think clearly again, and did not feel sick. I started feeling better ever since we left Earth and went to Grullo. Once we found the location of the dark fragment, we were given a space rover to get there. This planet was rough as we were constantly under attack. There were shadow monsters too, which freaked everyone out. Apparently the celestial Spectral's name was Fate and when she found the first fragment back at earth she used her power to already release some of the darkness back into the universe.

The cave was surrounded by DRC troops who immediately started attacking us when they seen us. It was a long fight just to get into the cave. On the brightside we were finally able to get some equipment. I had found a rifle with an underbarrel flamethrower. The fight lasted for about 5 hours, thankly we were victorious but not unharmed. I had been shot which did not hurt and quicky healed because of my powers. Terrance on the otherhand was shot in the neck. Landon was quick to react, he got so angry and instantly disintegrated all the DRC troops after Terrance was shot. Then he... he performed a miracle. He put his hand over Terrance's wound and it healed instantly.  Terramce was then filled with a vigor I have never seen in any living being.

After our battle we finally entered the cave,it was filled with dark crystals. Shockingly though the cave gave way into a secret hidden facility. The facility contained a lab, testing room, and living quarters. There were many weird things in that room beyond mortal comprehension. There was a recreation of the sun orb, spectral's blood and eyes, serums of the bio plague, and other horrors. I hated being in there. We all searched around the very small facility. I was getting sick looking around at these disgusting trophies. The weird thing is that this lab belonged to DRC,yet they had no clue where the darkness fragment was. Yeah right, I was not believing it for a second. Something was wrong I could feel it. They wanted us to find this lab and I do not know why.

I was getting tired of looking. No darkness fragment anywhere to be found. Terrance finally found an entrance to another part of the facility hidden behind a shelf of strange jars. It was another lab, and guess what we found. It was the fragment. It was glowing with energy. The energy burned my skin but felt welcoming at the same time. I did not want to touch it.

Landon went to grab the fragment when there was a burst of light. It was Her..it was Fate.

Fate had wanted us to find it so she could, use Landon as a source of power to find the next piece. Apparently when she used her powers to find the first piece it drained her. She wanted to force him to use his powers to find the next piece so she would not drain her power. After that she could get to the piece quicker because we would be slowed down. She teleported into the air and her dark devil wings came out. She then telekentically flung us all back against the walls. She then shot beams of light at us. I dodged, but was almost hit. I shot beams of radiation at her from out of my hands. She just laughed and absorbed the radiation, making herself stronger. Terrance shot lightning at her which stunned her. I took anothee shot knocking her down to the ground. Landon teleported and hit her causing her to go flying back 10 feet and hit a wall. Landon then summoned a giant firebird which flew into her making her crush into the wall. She shot an astral projection of light into landon knocking him out. She than telekenetically trapped us against the wall we were on.

Fate grabbed the fragment, teleported over to landon, and stuck it into his chest. He immediately turned to solid light and started saying wierd phrases.

"The fragment, the next fragment is on Venus. It is located on the highest point." said Landon as if he were possssed. After Fate got what she wanted she teleported away with the fragment. Landon started glowing black instead of white and was letting out rays of darkness.

Landon still had the effects of the fragment in his body. He was going to explode and kill all of us and take out half the planet. Landon was screaming in agony but he did not let the darkness overtake him. I had never seen anyone do this before or anyone so powerful. I wondered how Fate was able to take him down so easily. Landon's eyes turned white and his wings came out. He was absorbing the darkness inside of him. The darkness started merging with his body and then it was over. Landon had absorbed the darkness. His eyes and veins were now glowing grey. The darkness and light in him merged and made him twice as powerful. Our victory was short lived however as prisoners who were kept in the lab were set free. They were test subjects who had been given powers to kill us. I made my skin turn into medal because one of the patients shot red lightning at me. It did not hurt me at all but it made her blast back. The other patients were easily restrained, but me and Quinn were busy fightning the patient. She teleported behind me and blasted me back. I had been keeping tranquilizers with me in my robotic arm storage. I took one out and injected her with it when she tried to hit me again. After the riot Landon was able to use his powers to help them regain their sanity. Once they calmed down we were able to help them figure out what had happened. They also informed us on what happened. They had been experimented on and given drugs to give them powers and increased aggression. The powers were permanent, thankfully the increased aggression was not.

The woman introduced herself as Amaya and asked if she could help us fight the DRC for revenge. While Landon, who seemed to become the group leader, was talking to them I looked around the lab one more time. While we were fighting I had seen another door in the lab. I walked over to the door and hacked it. Once it opened I was shocked at the sight. It was a small room with 3 computers and a handcuffed employee. I recognized the employee as one of the old scientists who worked at DRC when I was there. I remember she was assigned to the GRAND SPECTRAL Project. I immediately deployed my shield ready to slice through that skank. I hated the DRC and here was someone who helped ruin the life of my dear friend Landon Sunstone. I quickly quit threatening her when she  begged me to let her live. I felt sympathy just this once,so I cut her free of her restraints.
"Make one move and I kill you" I said threatingly. She nodded in fear.
"I know you, you were the soldier who went awol. Please just listen to me before you hurt me. I am Valerie and I worked on The Grand Spectral Project. I was forced by the DRC to work in the lab. I was there on that ship the day California exploded. I was the only other survivor besides your friend. The only reason I lived is because I made an experimental device that is suppose to make you close to immortal. After I was found, I was  captured and sent here and was forced to work. They wanted me to find fragments. I worked on the device to give me powers like you. You can still kill me if you want, but I just want to help.". Said Valerie

"Just this once, and only because we need all the help we can get. Double cross me and you are dead, GET IT!" I yelled. Valerie nodded in agreement. I lead her out of the cave where the rest of the group was. I introduced her to the rest of the group. They were skeptical but soon accepted her. Fools, why does everyone always feel like everything is okay after a sorry. We returned back to town.

Landon was heartbroken he let Fate win. He did not say anything to anyone. Honestly I felt horrible too. Years of military wasted, because I lost to some coorperate superpowered Dictator Witch. On top of that we had no way of getting to venus since our ship was shot down. Fate was going to win and there was nothing we could do a about it. She would destroy everything. We all were silent and desperate. That is when Landon desperately suggested trying to teleport us off of the planet onto Venus. It would be a stretch but we were hopeless. He suggested to use the remaining energy from the darkness fragment to enhance his powers. We would either all die before we could feel anything or actuallu make it to Venus(which was not likely). We all gathered close together and waited. Landon turned completely into light and a shielf of energy surrounded us. Landon then screamed and everything went white. When I could finally see I realized we had actually made it to Venus. It was a success, fortunately. Even better the DRC was not here. There was also a military base set up planetside. For once in this long excruciaring war we had an advantage. Even better we knew were the fragment was. It was a long shot but I knew there was a way we would be victorious. We had to be better than the enemy and we would be. That was my promise. A promise I would keep.

Sorry for not updating, I hoped ypu enjoyed the chapter. I have been busy lately.
