"Fuck!" I yell as a dagger hits my right eye.
"I don't have money! I already told you! I don't know what you want!" I backed up in fear.
"You should already know what we want.." a taller man speaks with a snicker at the end.
"We want your wings, pretty boy.." the third guy laughed.
"M-my wings?!" I yelled out.
"Yeah.. they're worth a ton on the market- golden feathers.. so rare." The taller guy said with a smile.
"A-uaH!!" I fell to the floor as he pushed me to the ground, standing on my wings.
"Ow! P-please stop!!" I screamed.
"Get out the knife boys."
"H-help!!" I screamed again, tears pouring out my eyes.
The guy bent down, grabbing my shoulders to turn me over. I covered my eyes in fear.
"Gah!" I hear the guy above me groan as he fell on the floor beside me. I quickly open my eyes to see a boy above me, right about my age it seemed. He had black hair, very curly, red eyes, eyebrows furrowed in anger.
"Scram scumbags!" He hissed, his tail lashing out with anger. More tears formed as I smile weakly.
"T-thankyou."
He looked down at me for a moment and smiled before looking at the guy next to me. By now the other guys have ran.
"I hope you rot in hell!" He said as he stuck his sword into the guys neck.
I sit up, my wings folding up.
"Are you okay?" He crouched down, sitting in his knees.
"I guess now- they cut my eye- I can't even open it.." I said, tears still coming down my face.
"Here I'll put some medicine and bandages on it." He reached into a little sack he had on his waist and grabbed some disinfectant and bandages and set the down.
"Alright." He looked at me in the eyes, putting his hands in my cheeks, wiping away my tears with a smile.
"No need to cry." He moved the hair away from my right eye and started applying the disinfectant before wrapping bandages around my head.
"Alright- does anything else hurt?"
"They pushes me real hard on the ground.. my chest hurts quite a bit, I don't think it's bleeding though-"
"Mind if I have a look?" He asked awkwardly.
"I guess not-" I pulled my shirt over my head.
"Wow, would've thought you'd fight back with that kind of muscle." He chuckled.
"Yeah- I don't know one thing about fighting." I nervously laughed.
"What do you do then? To get this muscle anyways?" He said as he started pushing gently on bruised spots, making me flinch slightly.
"Ah- I just.. I really like to go out and adventure, but ever since my wings have grown out it's been hard not to be chased after and fought like this.." I sigh, "I'm also trying to learn how to fly- by myself. My dad doesn't have wings, because he's part demon." I point to my tail.
"What about your mother?" He said, now inspecting the ribs on the side of my body.
"She- she died giving birth to me.. She had beautiful white wings my dad tells me, never got to see them.. I don't get why I have these golden wings- no one in my family has ever had them."
"Oh.. sorry- didn't mean to ask that."
"It's fine really." I chuckle, "Never knew her so I'm not very sensitive on the matter."
"Oh." He smiles. "Could you turn around for me?"
"Sure-"
"Do your wings hurt?"
"The guy stood on them- he didn't step on any muscle but I may have lost some feathers." I scratch my chin.
My wings pop open as he touches a sensitive part of my wing. My face flushes with embarrassment.
"S-Sorry!" I hear him chuckle behind me.
"It's fine." He smiles before running his fingers along my feathers.
"They sure are beautiful, I see why people are after them."
"They're after the money- not the look of them.."
"Wow, isn't that a loss then?" He chuckles as he strokes one of my long feathers.
"I guess so-" I chuckle with him.
"Well, it looks like everything's fine here, a little dirty though." He sighs, "Your chest is a bit bruised, it might be sore for a little bit."
"Ah- okay."
"You might want to hide your wings as much as you can though.."
"Well that doesn't matter, I'm going to practice and be as strong as you! Then I won't have to hide my wings!" I smile.
"Hey- I'm not that strong." He chuckles.
"Really? Your the only person that I have ever had protect me, in my eyes, there's no one stronger."
"R-really?" He laughed of embarrassment from my praise.
"Yeah." I smile.
"Thankyou-"
"Tyler, you can call me Ty though."
"Well Thankyou Ty." He smiles.
"No, Thankyou." I smile. I open up one of my wings, grabbing the feather he was stroking, plucking it. "Here, don't ever forget me, not until we meet again, Brendon." I turn around, handing him the feather.
"I don't think I'd ever forget you.." he smiled as he took the feather.
"R-really?" I smile, "Well then, I'll never forget you either." I stand up as he does. "Well- I should be going before it gets too dark and more people come out.."
"Yeah- alright- bye Ty." He smiles.
"Bye-"
"Brendon." He smiles.
"Bye Brendon, Thankyou." I smile, wave, and then start running home.
