Jinki was waiting for his turn while Jjong was recording his singing parts. They were casted to sing an OST for a drama. His fingers were fidgeting while he looks up onto screen. “Kim Mari- 010 XXX XXXX” it read. He threw the phone on the couch and went back and forth still hesitant on what he should tell you or how he should start a conversation with you.

This is what actually happened that night.

After his conversation with his manager, Jinki and Mari talked for some time. Of course, Jinki did not know how to open discussions or whatsoever so Mari led and started throwing out topics.

Good to be true, Jinki and Mari had a great time. 30 minutes seemed like 30 seconds to their endless giggles. And seriously, Jinki was happy to find out that Mari liked his weird sangtae. She laughed with his jokes and everything was perfect

Too bad that his manager was so punctual and actually came on the fixated time. They found out that the battery of his car ran out of charge. “There should be a light inside your car saying it’s almost out of battery!” his manager scolded. “I noticed it last week and shrugged it off. Sorry hyung.” He was seriously feeling apologetic and felt bad for his worried manager.

Mari on the other hand, found it cute. How could a driver not know that he was running out of battery? SHINee’s leader is rather forgetful, she thought.

“I guess I’m leaving the two of you?” his manager winked on him while dusting off his hands and closing the lid of your car. Jinki blushed with this statement knowing what he meant. So far, no one else discovered his little crush on you. However, since that very day, Jinki always smiles out of the blue with thoughts of you. His manager then concluded that the mystery girl was you.

However, you were clueless about the current situation. It sounded normal to you. Although Jinki’s reaction was rather unusual, you just nudged it off and pretended you never noticed.

“So I guess you’re leaving?” you sounded a bit down. He nodded. You actually hoped –atleast a tad bit—that he would drop you on the nearest bus stop, fetch you a taxi or the best option would be, personally drop you home. You sighed dejectedly and made your way back to your pastry shop.

You’ve finished your closing routine. Checked all the lights and water, the cash register, cleared all the dishes and raised the chairs you and Jinki used. You locked the door and lights, finally closing for that day with Jinki as your last customer.

Headlights were flashing on you so you checked what it was. It was Onew. He made his way out of his vehicle and smiled. “I guess I’m taking you home in return.” He managed to say. It made you happy. The thought that he waited for you and actually offered to send you home, it formed a small curve on your lips.

You didn’t reject the suggestion; you entered his car without hesitations. “I thought you actually wanted a girl to go home alone at this time of the night.” You were blunt enough to confess what you really felt. “Sorry.” Was all he said. “I’ll be your chauffeur, tell me where I should drop you off, madam.” He jokingly said. It made you laugh, hysterically.

You two were in a really good sync. You led the conversation while he makes you laugh with his jokes. You find each other’s company rather comfortable and fun. However, all the good things come to an end. And your ending was when you finally reached your apartment.

“So..” you started saying. He was just holding his steering wheel, not trying to look at you. Maybe he has something to say? You alleged to yourself. “I’m leaving.” You finally said. There was only silence. I don’t think he’s going to say something else. You concluded.

You opened the door but a few words rolled his tongue which halted your move. “Mari-ssi!” he yelped. “Can I get your number?”

After much courage, he said it. He actually wanted it, since a week ago. He wanted to call you, talk to you, and have a connection with you but he didn’t know what to do. He was shy and wasn’t really experienced when it comes to this. If he wanted to know his coworkers’ numbers’, he would ask Jonghyun or Key for it. But this case was different, Mari didn’t know them.

Jinki and you exchanged numbers. After you closed the door, Jinki shouted a ‘Yes!’ to his self while doing some sort of celebratory movements.

Yes, it took all of his courage to ask for your number. But the problem is, he didn’t know how to approach you. ‘Hi’ would be too boring and ‘Hey it’s Jinki!’ would be too casual.

Without him noticing, Jonghyun already finished his turn and started examining his hyung’s weird behavior. “Hyung! Why are you too hyped up with your phone again?” Jonghyun shifted near Jinki to see what he was doing. Jinki dragged his phone away from the dino to stop him from seeing. “Could it be..” he paused. “you’re looking on a picture of a dumpling again!?”

“Seriously stop that habit of yours!” he scolded. Jinki sighed “It’s not a dumpling. It’s better if it’s just a dumpling.”

“Wow hyung, JUST a dumpling? So it’s more important than that? I’m dying to know! Chicken? Maybe?” Jonghyun teased but Jinki was not in the mood. “Hyung, what’s wrong?” Jjong finally noticed that Jinki was feeling blue.

Jinki then had a great idea. Well, not that much of a good idea. Asking Jonghyun for help? Umm..

Okay, it’s now or never! Jinki thought “Jonghyun! I have a problem.” He finally confessed. Jonghyun was a really experienced person when it comes to dating. He had a lot of girlfriends after Se Kyung and seriously, he was a total flirt. Jinki guess he could contribute something. “There’s this g-gi-“ Jinki stuttered.

 “GIRL!? Omo.”  Jonghyun was shocked.

He knew Jonghyun would react like this so he just sighed in defeat. Since SHINee had different schedules so they do not live in a dorm anymore so neither Jonghyun nor any of the SHINee members were oblivious to the fact that the oldest hyung was actually hitting on a girl. For 9 years that they were together, Jonghyun barely seen Jinki talk to a girl except his Mom and SM girls; for short, a girl that he actually has affectionate feelings for.

“So you see there’s a new pastry shop and I want to be friends with the owner. I already got her number but it’s still hard for me to start a conversation.” He emphasized friends. He didn’t want Jonghyun to jump into conclusions although he already did. Jonghyun playfully smiled on him and gave him the I-know-it’s-something-else look.

“Ok. Think whatever you want but I seriously need your help.” He pleaded.

“Onew! It’s your turn.” The musical director shouted. “Let’s talk about this later.” Jinki left off Jonghyun and made the biggest mistake of his life. He left his mobile phone with Kim Jonghyun which gave the dino an evil scheme.

“Help you say?” he smirked as he reached Jinki’s handphone.
