Rin pov
Mephisto has barely let me go out of the house! It's so boring. I have nothing to do. I finished my book and did all of the homework I drew for a bit and now I am bored. And time is moving so slowly! and Mephisto won't let me in the kitchen. I have begged him three times today. it's Sunday I spent all of Saturday being bored.
"Please," I beg once more.
"No, Rin I am not letting you in the kitchen you could get hurt," Mephisto replies.
"Well, what can I do?" I whine.
"Relax maybe even sleep."
"But I already did that," I reply. "Can I help you with paperwork then?"
"No. Besides, there is not that much left," Mephisto replies.
"Well, I want to spend time with someone," I reply.
"We can spend time together once I have finished this," Mephisto replies.
"That is what you said yesterday and we barely spent time together! Yukio would spend time with me if I asked him," I grumble.
Mephisto sighs and puts down his paper. "Rin, if you really are that bored then you can go for a walk in the garden. Get a maid to show you where it is."
I feel a bit betrayed. He is just shoving me away.
I get up and I leave his home office. I look at him before I exit. He is back to filling out his paperwork. I walk out of his office sadly. I get a maid to show me where the garden is. The garden is outside but there is a barrier around it to keep demons and unwanted creatures out. I walk around the garden just taking the sight in.
It's beautiful. the soft shades of green and yellow flow nicely with the dark shades of brown. In the middle of the garden is a group of cherry blossom trees. they look bare without their buds. and yet they are still graceful. still beautiful. I sit underneath them a gust of wind moves past me it ruffles the fur on my tail and my hair. I shiver.
Even though I am wearing a sweater and a hoodie with two pairs of sweatpants I am still cold. My hood is up but the tips of my ears are sticking out.
"Well, hello there little Neko," A voice coos. I panic.
Not this again; please not this again. I don't want to get hurt and Mephisto will be even more overbearing. I stand up getting ready to run.
"Calm down. I am not here to hurt you. Just simply make sure you are safe. A Neko alone is not safe," The voice coos once again. "Come to think of it... This is Mephisto's garden. Does Nīsan have a new toy? A new pet. I might have to ask him to play with you," The voice purrs. Then I recognize it.
Amaimon that monotone bastard! I can tell he is in a pack... Most likely a pack with the other demon kings. I can also tell he is behind me from the sent path and the sound of his voice... or at least how I am hearing him. I growl at him.
"What a feisty one." Amaimon says.
I take my hood off and I almost instantly regret it. The air is so cold. I turn around and look at Amaimon in his gleaming yellow eyes. I growl again. He is perched up in a tree looking down at me. The shadows of the branches drift onto his face. Framing his golden eyes. It sends a shiver down my back to look at him. He is full of authority.
Amaimon's blank expression stays the same. But I can see a newfound curiosity in his eyes.
"Well, I never expected the little Otouto to be a Neko. I always thought that was going to be the younger twin. But, your mother was a Neko; so it is destiny that you would be too. Well, you or your younger brother. But in fact, this is better," Amaimon says.
"What are you doing here?" I growl.
"This Mephisto's garden the real question is why are you here?"
"You don't need to know that Mephisto simply brought me to the mansion for my safety or whatever. I agreed to it but now I have nothing to do. I wanted to spend Mephisto but he was too busy so he told me to go to the garden. And now... and now we are having this conversation," I reply getting more upset by the second.
"Mephisto pushed you away even after he brought you here? It sounds like something would do. But Nisan should have never pushed you away," Amaimon says.
"well, he did. It doesn't really bother me. Everyone eventually pushed me away or forgets about me," I reply.
"Well, will you let me be the one to break that chain?" Amaimon says.
"What?" I ask. Amaimon jumps down from the tree and lands a meters/feet away from me.
"You naive little Otouto. You are too precious to be left alone and shoved away. You are a Neko. A Neko with royal blood. Any demon would kill for you, and many demons will try to get you as a mate. But if you accept me in your life then I prevent you from getting hurt. Mephisto has many schemes and plots running all at once. But for me. I'm simply here to carry out the small tasks he assigns me. And he doesn't assign me missions often so I have plenty of time to spend with you," Amaimon answers. "All I am saying is. I can be there for you if you wish me to be. I won't ignore you and I promise you won't get bored of me any time soon. For I surely will not get bored of you." He holds out his hand. "What do you say little Otouto?"
I am about to respond when there is a puff of smoke and I am pulled in to hug. Mephisto growls sharply at Amaimon.
"There you are. I was wondering why you left Rin all on his own. Knowing you it was most likely by accident. Even though you rarely make those." Amaimon purrs.
Amaimon pulls me closer. "Nisan why did you tell us little Otouto was a Neko?"
"Because it's none of your concern," Mephisto replies.
"But it is. If little Rin is a sub, especially a Neko that changes everything for our family." Amaimon replies.
"Well, it shouldn't. Our brothers have shown little interest in him so far. They have just been focusing on their own plans. I can't blame them for that but Rin's breed is no one's concern but mine. I was the one who gave a dam about him when the rest of you didn't. Father and Lucifer have been the only other ones to show remote interest other than you." Mephisto says.
"But now that he is a Neko he is much more important to our family as a whole," Amaimon replies. Something snaps in me. A deep hatred. Angry even.
"Is that all I am to you? A pawn? Just a toy that you can throw away at any time? Was I not useful before? Is that why everyone hated me? because I wasn't useful enough? Because I wasn't important enough?" I scream.
Amaimon is taken aback by this. I escape from his arm and I glare at him.
"You aren't even here for me. You just want me because I am a Neko. I was nothing before. Just a mistake. But now that I am a Neko I am suddenly important! This is worse than before. People don't like me for me. They only endure me because I'm just a Neko. Leave for all I care." I growl. Amaimon is shocked.
"He is still the same Rin regardless of his breed. I would suggest you keep this quiet from our brothers. I would hate to have to detour another one of our brothers," Mephisto adds.
I go back to hugging Mephisto. Amaimon quickly leaves.
