The cold wind was slapping Eddie across the face. He was walking to school because he missed his bus once again. He remembered what he had to do once he arrived.
As usual, the hallways were filled with kids all over the place. But Stan was no where to be seen. As Eddie was walking around, he found Bev.
"Um, hi. Have you seen Stan?", Eddie nervously asked.
"Nope, been searching for him the whole morning", she said.
"I wonder where he might be.."
"Don't worry, dude. It's not the first time he disappears on us. That's just him."
"Great. I was actually going to apologize, but here we are", Eddie sighed.
Bev looked him in the eyes and pat his shoulder.
"He'll be back."
Eddie grabbed her hand and moved it aggressively. "Sorry, I'm not feeling well", he vaguely said.
Bev seemed to look confused, but she nodded and walked away. Eddie continued to search for Stan. The bell already rang but he was determined on finding his friend first. A few minutes have passed and Eddie got bored. The halls were now empty and they were giving him a bad feeling. He kept checking his back to make sure no one was ready to stab him. "Wow, your paranoia is gonna kill you", he thought. The boy took a few more steps and bumped into someone. His daily thing. When he looked up, his eyes went wide as his face got pale. "No, it can't be. Fuck. Me."
The giant in front of him had a visible grin on his face. He was trying not to burst out laughing. He knelled down next to him, reaching his hand out to Eddie. Of course it was Richie. Just the thing he needed.
"My apologies, Eds. It's understandable that you bumped into me, taking in consideration the amount of kids lurking around", he sarcastically said.
"Don't call me that, you-"
"Here's the thing. I personally think you're a really nice person. Maybe we shouldn't be 'enemies' and just chill, ya know? Like old buddies", Richie said, but his look was saying something else.
"No, thank you. I'm fine with my friends. Oh sorry, do I have to translate that word to you? 'Cause it sure as hell seems you have no idea what friends are", Eddie spat.
"Ouch! That one kinda hurt me. But I'll be a nice dude and forgive you for that because I know you didn't mean it."
"Look, I really have to get to class and your boring conversation isn't helping. See you around. Not."
Richie was still holding out his hand, now purposely looking at it, but Eddie rejected it and stood up by himself.
"I see how it is, Eds. Later", he smiled and left.
Eddie waited a few seconds before he could sigh in relief. He grabbed his inhaler and took a deep breath in, collapsing on the floor.

"Hey, can you hear me?!", a muffled voice was heard. Was this all a dream? Maybe. Maybe not. Eddie has passed out on the floor and a full circle of students gathered around him. The history teacher was next to Eddie, trying to regain his consciousness.
The boy suddenly jumped up, coughing. He was shaking and couldn't breathe properly. He was trying to ask for his inhaler but nobody seemed to understand. He was looking for his backpack which was gone.
