The mere thought of the baby that wasn't hers pained Mary. But she couldn't ask Francis to send his child away when he only got to see his child every other week. But now, the child was to stay, to be with them forever. Lola was dying of cancer, and Mary went to visit her friend and love her until her passing. And Lola understood that Mary was still pained by John, and didn't press her friend to speak of the baby that resided within her home and took her husband's attention.
"Lola I am sorry. I seem like a selfish person, being angry at a child." Mary said as tears leaked down her face. Lola sighed gently before clasping Mary's hands within her own. "I understand. You are a young bride, who desperately wants to be a young mother and John is taking Francis's attention. I will speak with him when he brings John later." Lola rasped then coughed. Mary helped her friend lean up so she could empty her stomach.
Mary thanked her friend before kissing her head and leaving her to rest.

Lola smiled as she tickled John's stomach. John crawled over her legs and played with the jacket of his father. "Francis you are making a mistake." Lola spoke. "How?" The blonde asked. "Mary visited earlier. She apologized for being cross and brought to my attention that you spend no time with her."
"I ask if she wants to play with me and John all the time." Francis defended as if that was a good excuse. "That's your problem. You only just got married 2 months before. Leave John with Kenna and spend a week with Mary, ravish her, love her, make love to her. Make Mary know that John is not your only priority. She wants to give you what I gave you, a child that you could love." Lola rasped to the father of her child.
Francis looked down, finally realizing the reason his wife had seemed down and refused to play with the child, she was jealous. Not only of John getting the attention of her husband but of John coming from Lola. She wanted to give him a child but couldn't do so if Francis didn't want to have one with her.
"I will do it tonight." Francis whispered.
~Mary closed her car door, her heels clicking on the ground of her driveway and steps as she unlocked her front door. She sighed and slipped her shoes off, putting her purse and jacket on the couch slowly when she heard no squeals of excitement from John.
"Francis? Babe I'm home." She called as she walked up the stairs to her bedroom, gasping when Francis stood in there, rose petals on the ground. The only out of ordinary thing was the fact that Francis was doing this. They hadn't had a night like this since their honeymoon. "Francis?" She asked wearily as she walked slowly into their bedroom, the lights dimmed.
Francis smiled and grabbed her hand, bringing her closer to him. "Mary. I understand why you refuse to so much as look at John. I realized that I haven't been paying attention to my gorgeous wife that finally is mine. I apologise Mary. I never meant to make you feel such pain in your heart." Francis told her. Her heart swelled with acceptance. This whole time she felt as though he married her for money and nothing else but he was showing that she was more than money bags.
"Oh Francis. This is lovely." Francis smiled and kissed her gently before dragging her to their bathroom. "I even drew you a bath. We could sit in there together, drink champagne. Or wine, I brought both red and white." Francis said. Mary smiled at the candle lit bathroom with wine and champagne sitting next to the bathtub.
Mary touched his chest gently. "What about John?" She asked. Francis too her hand and kissed it. "With Kenna and Bash. They knew that we needed a night to ourselves and gladly took him. Kenna needed the practice." Francis murmured. Mary giggled and kissed her husband.
"You are the most amazing man ever. Even though less than 24 hours ago I wanted to strangle you." Francis chuckled and ran his hand down the back of her dress before running it back up and unzipping the dress. "And I love that you did all of this for me." She whispered as the undressed.
"All so you would feel no pain." Francis whispered into her neck. Mary moaned gently as she tangled her hands into his blonde locks. "No pain."
