“Chandria, you will have to marry the son of the Padilla family.” my dad said.
“What?! Dad! Ayoko!” I said, shaking my head.
“Chandria, there’s nothing you can do about it.” he said, “It’s already decided, the Padilla family already agreed to it.”
I shook my head.
“Kath.” my mom said, putting her hand on mine, “Just think about it, it’s for our family’s future.”
“But mom, I don’t want to marry someone I don’t love!” I disagreed with tears threatening to fall.
“Don’t worry, before you marry, we’ll give you a month to get to know each other.” my mom said.
“What if I don’t like him mom?” I said with tears falling from eyes as I shook my head.
“I’m sorry..” she sighed, “You’re going to have to like him, since you’re gonna be spending the rest of your life with him.”
“Mom! Dad! You can’t do this to your own daughter!” I said, crying.
“Kath, calm down. You haven’t even met him yet, what if you actually like him?” my mom said.
“Okay, but what if I DO like him, but he doesn’t like ME?” I cried
“Chandria, please.” my dad said.
“This is for your family.” my mom said.
I shook my head, and ran to my bedroom.
I locked my door, and laid on my bed.
How can they do this to me?
Why are they forcing me with a guy, I don’t even know or met before, to marry him?!
What if I hate him, or what if he hates me?
What if it doesn’t work out, but we still have to be married?
I took my iPhone out and called my bestfriend, Julia.

“Hello?” she answered.
“Juls!” I started to cry again.
“What’s wrong Kath?” she asked.
