“For what, exactly?” I mumbled, but loud enough for him to hear.
“For.... everything.” he sighed, “Sorry for being a dumbass, okay?! Sorry for lying to you...sorry for playing you...everything. I’m sorry, sorry, sorry!” he grabbed my hands and made me face him.
“DJ...may sakit ka, hindi mo alam sinasabi mo.” I said trying to pull away my hands from his, but he held on tightly.
“NO. Kasalan ko naman bakit may sakit ako ngayon diba?! Hindi ko lang maintindihan kung bakit nandidito ka, inaalagan ako!” he squeezed my hands even more tightly, “Ha, Kath? Bakit? Why are you still here..with the guy that lied to you, played you....?” his voice lowered when he reached the last words of the sentence.
He laid his head on my hands, and I think...
I think he started to cry a little.
And this broke my heart even more than what he did to me.
“You wanna know why I’m still here?! Do you really?!” I shook the grip that he had on my hands, “Kasi..kasi.. ang tanga ko. ANG TANGA, TANGA KO.”
I started to cry, unable to stop it.
“Alam mo kung bakit ang tanga ko?! Kasi.. yung TAONG SUMAKIT SA AKIN. YUNG TAONG NILOKO AKO, AT YUNG TAONG PINAGLARUAN LANG AKO....mahal ko pa rin. That person, when he cried...I couldn’t help it. He cried for the first time in front of me... Siguro nga hindi ko nakita, pero alam ko. Alam ko umiiyak sya, I felt his tears on my hands while he was hiding behind them. That broke my heart. It broke my heart more than that person did to me....”
My voice went quieter, and quieter.
“Di ko nga alam kung ano gagawin ko pag nakita ko sya umiyak eh.” I cried.
“Kath..” he hugged me, while I cried into his chest.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” he repeatedly said while stroking and kissing my hair.
I couldn’t help but look up at him.
He stared at me with eyes that beg for forgiveness.
“What can I do....for you to forgive me?” he whispered as he stared into my eyes.
“Just......” I said, “love me.”
He nodded almost instantly after I said it.
“I’ve always loved you Kath, I never stopped.” he said, hugging me.
