As soon as their show had ended, Joan took an open spot at the bar and ordered two drinks - straight whiskey and a bottle of beer. This was something that she did at every show that she had been to. These two drinks were the drinks that she and Izzy had been drinking when they had first met, and it was always a post-show tradition that Joan and Izzy would meet up directly after to drink together.
Taking in the bar's interior design, Joan let out a content sigh at the venue. It was a nice place, spacious and pricey in almost all aspects. It warmed her heart that the boys were able to book a show at a place like this, showing their increasing demand and growth. She was proud of how far they'd come and knew that they would go much further.
"Mind if I sit next to you?" A voice drew Joan from her thoughts, and her head turned towards the disembodied voice. A smile spread on her lips as she took in the features of Izzy, a mirrored smile accompanying his dark hair being kept out of his face with a bandana.
"Actually, it's being saved for someone," Joan teased, swiveling around in her seat to face him. "You might've heard of him - he's in this rock band called Guns N' Roses. His name is Duff - "
"Oh, fuck off," Izzy scoffed jokingly, sitting down next to her after cutting her sentence off and taking the bottle of beer that was in front of her. She hadn't even noticed the bartender placing them in front of her, so lost in her thoughts about the band.
"Ouch," she responded, raising her glass to clink it with Izzy's bottle. Once they did so, they each took a drink from their beverages respectively. "Anyway, you guys were great tonight! You all sounded really good together, and not to sound conceited or anything but Think About You sounded the best it's ever sounded."
"You don't sound conceited, you are conceited," Izzy commented, earning a light punch to his shoulder courtesy of Joan. "But thanks, it did go pretty well tonight, didn't it? I feel like we're getting better every gig, y'know?"
"Who's the conceited one now, huh?" Joan couldn't help but to say, but she grinned nonetheless. "Really though, you're right. You guys did great and I think it's only gonna get better from here."
She finished off the little bit of whiskey that was left in her glass, setting it back down on the counter and looking to see Izzy with an uncharacteristic expression on his face. It almost looked boyish, a hopeful look littered with uncertainty. "You think so?"
"Of course, Iz. It takes a lot to make it big, but I think you guys have it made for you. Really," Joan nodded, locking eyes with him for a few moments to show how much she meant what she had said.
After quite a few seconds of silent eye contact, Joan broke it and looked back at her glass, getting out her seat and standing up. "Come on, finish your beer. We need to go find the band so I can tell them how great you guys all did."
As soon as Izzy had finished off his drink and Joan left the bartender a sizeable tip, they ventured off to find the rest of the guys. It was an easy task, knowing that the band always reserved a corner table wherever they went to fit everyone in so they could all converse among one another easily. Joan scanned each corner, finally seeing the recognizable guys that she had been looking for.
