the four neared their apartment door when a loud shriek followed by giggling resonated from the door. they all knew that only jimin and jin giggled, but they knew for a fact that jin's giggle did sound that dainty, that small. so yoongi pushed the door handle down and they walked into the house, immediately heading towards the living room.
at the sound of people walking in the three sitting down looked up, and that was when taehyung locked eyes with a certain orange-haired boy. the smile immediately fell off his face and his posture turned stiff and guarded before he quickly stood up, brushing his pants slightly.
"excuse me", he mumbled, turning away and running towards jeongguk's room.
there was silence for a moment as jimin chewed on his lower lip, wondering how much he had hurt taehyung for the silver to not want to see him, but he knew it was a whole heck of a lot. he felt so damn guilty because taehyung was right, his ex, il beomsoo, had been abusive, taehyung had warned him, but he refused to listen.
"well that was rude", yoongi drawled in a bored and annoyed voice, rolling his eyes.
"i'm sorry", the ravenette apologised. "he's not usually like that. i have no idea why he would act like that..."
"it's my fault", jimin spoke up, causing five pairs of eyes to look at him. "he-he was the friend i told you about. the one that i yelled at for telling me that my ex is abusive. i should have fucking listened to him, i shouldn't have yelled, i know how sensitive he is."
the ravenette was quiet, eyes narrowed and the others mistook it for anger.
"look, jeon, i'm-", jimin started.
"no, no, no, no, shush", the taller waved him off, letting the room fall into silence.
"fucking hell!", they heard from upstairs and the ravenette stood up, running up to his room, his friends following him.
they burst through the door to find taehyung teary-eyed and clutching his left arm slightly, looking up at jeongguk with trembling hands.
"ggu", he whimpered, stumbling towards the taller, who engulfed the younger in his arms. "i accidentally knocked against your desk. it hurts."
the older gave him a small, sad smile and sat him down on the bed, pulling the first aid kit out from beneath the bed. he rolled up the younger's sleeve, exposing the bandage that was now turning a bright red. jeongguk grimaced and unwrapped the bandage, revealing the wound that was still fairly fresh.
the ravenette began disinfecting it, intertwining their fingers before rewrapping a fresh set of bandages on his arm. fingers gently stroking the cut as he put the first aid kit away.
"what-what happened?", hoseok breathed, still in slight shock from how deep the cut was.
"slit my own wrist", the silver-haired boy shrugged, looking up at them. "wouldn't be the first time..."
