A couple days later, Erica woke up to her mom knocking on her door. "Erica, time to get up." Meredith said. Erica yawned and stretched as she sat up in bed.

"I'm up." She said.

"Hurry up and get ready, so you're not late for school." Meredith said.

"I am." Erica said. "I'll be down in a little bit."

"Ok." Meredith said. Erica got out of her bed and walked over to her closet. She picked out a black and white striped long sleeve shirt and orange overalls. She put her hair up in a ponytail.

Once she done getting ready, she made her way downstairs. She walked into the kitchen. "Hi sweetie." Meredith said, taking chocolate chip waffles out of the toaster and putting them on a plate. She set the plate on the table.

"Morning Mom." Erica said. She grabbed some orange juice out of the fridge and poured herself a glass before sitting at the table.

"How are you this morning?" Meredith asked.

"I'm doing good." Erica said as she ate.

"So, I decided to keep the house and we're going to get a few roommates." Meredith said.

"Ok." Erica said.

"I'll put up some posters around the hospital and see if I can find anyone." Meredith said. Erica nodded. "Hurry up and finish eating, so I can get you to school." Meredith said.

Erica quickly finished her breakfast. She went to the bathroom to brush her teeth while her mom cleaned up breakfast. When she was done, she walked into the hall. She put her jacket on and picked up her backpack.

"Ready to go?" Meredith asked.

"Yep." Erica said. She followed her mom outside and got in the car. Meredith started the car and drove to the school.

A few minutes later, they pulled up in front of the school. "Bye Erica." Meredith said.

"Bye Mom." Erica said, getting out of the car. She watched her mom drive off before walking into the school and heading to her classroom.

Later that afternoon, Erica was outside eating lunch. She read a book as she ate. "Hi." She heard someone say. Erica looked up to a girl her age, with brunette hair. She recognized the girl from her class.

"Hello." Erica said.

"Do you want mind if I sit with you?" The girl asked.

"Sure." Erica said.

"You're Erica, right?" The girl asked after sitting down. "You're new?"

"Yeah." Erica said.

"I'm Jamie." The girl said.

"Nice to meet you." Erica said.

"Where did you move from?" Jamie asked.

"Boston." Erica answered.

"Ahh. Ok." Jamie said.

"My Mom is a doctor at Seattle Grace Hospital." Erica said.

"That's cool." Jamie said. Erica nodded. They continued to kick the soccer ball.

After school, Erica packed her stuff up and walked outside. She got on the bus and rode it to the hospital. When she got to the hospital, Erica got off the bus and walked inside. She made her way to the cafeteria to get a snack. She got a package of cookies and a soda. Afterwards, she walked around, finding somewhere to sit. She walked into the lobby and found her mom talking with one of the other interns she saw in the cafeteria the other day. She walked over to them.

"Hi Mom." Erica said as she sat in a chair next to her mom. Her mom and the woman looked at her.

"Hey sweetie." Meredith said.

"Mom?" The other woman asked.

"Cristina, this is my daughter, Erica." Meredith said. "Erica, this is Cristina."

"It's nice to meet you." Erica said.

"You too, kid." Cristina said.

"How was school today?" Meredith asked.

"It was good." Erica replied. She noticed the cooler that her mom was holding.

"What's in the cooler?" She asked, curiously.

"Nothing." Meredith answered.

"I think I made a new friend at school." Erica said.

"Did you?" Meredith asked.

"Yeah." Erica said. "Her name's Jamie."

"Well, I'm glad you made a friend." Meredith said.

"Me too." Erica said.

Meredith and Cristina started talking.

"So, George said Alison was wearing your shoes." Cristina said.

"It's weird, right?" Meredith asked.

"It's weird that you care." Cristina said.

"I think it's weird." Meredith said. Just then, they heard something outside and a man stumbled in.

"What's going on?" Erica said.

"Erica, go to the daycare room. Meredith said. "I'll come and get you when my shift is over."

Erica nodded before her mother ran off. She headed to the daycare room. She sat at a table and worked on her homework while she ate her cookies and sipped her soda. Erica was pretty smart for a ten year old. She guessed it was because while she was growing up, her mother would be studying for school and would read the medical books to help Erica fall asleep . Erica knew a lot of stuff about medicine than you would think a ten year old would know.

That night, Erica was reading her book when her mom came in. "Hey Erica. You want to come see the newborn babies with me?" Meredith asked. Erica nodded, excitedly. She stood up with her stuff and followed her mom.

"Did you find any roommates yet?" Erica asked as they made their way to the nursery.

"I think so." Meredith said. They got to the nursery. Erica leaned against the wall with her mom. She looked at the babies in awe.

"So, I was like that as a baby?" She asked her mom.

"Mhmm." Meredith said. "You were a small baby, but healthy." Erica nodded. She noticed Cristina join them, along with the two other interns that were in the cafeteria the other day.

"Fine. George and Izzie. You can move into the house." Meredith said. Erica saw the two interns next to Cristina, who she assumed was George and Izzie, start dancing and cheering. "But, if you're going to live with me." Meredith said. "You have to be ok with my daughter, Erica, being there too."

"You're daughter?" Izzie asked.

"That would be me." Erica said. Izzie and George looked at Erica.

"Ready to go, Erica?" Meredith asked. Erica nodded as she stood up. "Do you want to go get something for dinner?" Meredith asked. "There's a grill across the street."

"Sounds good to me." Erica said.

"You're going to bring your ten year old daughter to a bar?" Cristina asked.

"It's more than just a bar." Meredith said. "And I won't drink."

They all walked out of the hospital and to the bar across the street.
