Did I really just let a potential fuckboy that I know nothing about into my new home? Yes.Am I going to regret it? I have no idea.
"Dad, I'm home!" I shouted, closing the door behind Caliban. My father wasn't in any visible room downstairs, so I figured he must have been in his room or somewhere else where he couldn't hear the door open and close. "Would you like tea, or hot chocolate?" I asked as I walked towards the kitchen counter once I spotted the two options by the sink.
"Tea, please."
I should've known by his accent.
"We have earl gray, chamomile, and oolong." I read his choices, thinking about what I wanted as well. He told me chamomile and I got a packet and began fixing it. We didn't have a kettle, so I just stuck it in the microwave. I, on the other hand, decided to have some hot chocolate. While I was waiting for the beep to signal his drink was done, my back was towards him and I could tell he was watching me.
"Um, do you take sugar? Maybe honey?" I questioned, finally turning to look at him, his eyes already on me.
"Nope." He replied, making sure to pop the 'p' in his response. I nodded, handing him the hot mug after letting it sit for a few minutes to make sure it really soaked all of the bag. I felt a little self conscious, not once did he take his attention off of me. It was only when I just got done with my cocoa that I heard my dad talking to me as he was coming downstairs, and that's when Caliban's eyes shifted.
"Hey hun! Sorry I was— uh, who is this?"
"This is Caliban! The one from Riverdale, remember? He walked me home. I thought I could repay him with a drink, that's okay right?" I smiled. I knew he was gonna say yes, mainly because he was already in the house and knowing my dad he's not rude enough to kick anyone out unless they're doing something really wrong.
"Yeah, I'm Elijah, nice to meet you!" He went for a handshake, just as he did with Sabrina earlier today. Caliban returned the gesture, although I did notice he had hesitated for a few seconds.
"And you as well..." He replied, taking another sip of his tea.
The atmosphere was getting slightly awkward, or maybe that was just me. My dad was just kind of standing there, either waiting for someone to talk or thinking of something to say himself. Caliban was just casually drinking his beverage, and I started to put mini marshmallows in mine.
"Well... we're gonna go to my room." I spoke up, my words turning both of the men's heads. Caliban smirked, but my dad raised an eyebrow. I grabbed my cup and motioned for the Riverdale resident to follow me.
"Uh, okay, you know the rules..." My dad stated, a little unsettled for whatever reason.
"Yup!" I jogged up the stairs, hearing Caliban's footsteps behind me. I got to my room and opened the door, allowing him to step in first.
"Rules?" He questioned, looking around at everything. I had managed to decorate it just a tad bit with posters and other belongings.
"Oh, yeah, my dad has this thing with guys in the house. No closed doors. I mean, they could swing the other way and he'd still say it." I explained, walking to my bed and sitting on the end of it. We still had our mugs in our hands, half full by now. It was silent for a few seconds, but more of a comfortable one. It's strange how I feel so at ease with him, yet every time he even looks at me I get all flustered. "So, how is it in Riverdale?"
He gestured toward the bed to get my approval of him taking a seat on it before answering, I obviously said yes. After setting his cup on my bedside table, he actually sprawled out, completely laying down with his arms behind his head on my pillow. I turned, sitting crisscross-applesauce while facing him.
