The Hospital Boy

[13] Jacob....

**Isabella's POV**

It's been 3 weeks since I tried to run away. Violet moved back to California and school is finally out for winter break. Today, would be the day I officially move in!

The moves bought in the last box from the moving truck. I think them and then closed the door. I looked over at Jacob with a huge smile. "We're officially moved in together." Jacob wrapped his arms around me and spinned me around. I laughed and then he set me down. He started to cough. "Oh, you okay?" I asked him. He smiled and nodded his head, "Yeah I'm totally fine." He kissed my head and I smiled back.

I walked over to the couch and I sat down, Harmony was watching Blue's Clues. "Issybella look! I helped him find his clue!" she told me. I smiled at her, "Yes you did. Great job princess!" I clapped as she looked back at the table. I saw the mail on the coffee table, so I picked them up and became nosey. I looked through the mail. Bill, bills, bills, a birthday invation for Harmony, and then a letter for me? I placed the other mail on the table as I stood up.

"Jacob...." I said as I looked up. I walked over to Jacob's room, and I opened the door. "Hey. Look who wrote me back ----" I saw Jacob on the floor. "JACOB!" I dropped the letter and I fell onto my knees. I turned him over, his shirt was covered in blood. "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!" I grabbed my phone from my pocket and I dialed 911

"911 what's your emergency?" I heard the lady say. "Yes! Hi, my name is Isabella. My boyfriend is covered in blood, and he's not really breathing. He has cancer and I don't know if this it part of the effects. Please send help!" I told her. "Sending an ambulance right away." I hung up the phone and I ran over to Harmony's bathroom. I grabbed a towel and I ran back to Jacob's side. I wipped some of the blood from his shirt.

I heard the sirens from the distance. "Issybella..." I heard Harmony say. "Why is Jakey on the floor...." she said all shakey. "Your brother had an accident." I told her. I walked over to the door and I opened it. There was guys in gloves. "Where is he?" one of them asked me. I pointed to the back and they all ran.

I picked up Harmony as she started to cry. She looked at her Jacob and cried even more. I tried to cover her eyes so we won't look at him. The paramadics carried him out. "Which hosptial are you guys taking him? I'll follow you guys." I told one of them. "Saint Maria's hosptial." they told me.

I grabbed Jacob's car keys and I ran out the door, I quickly placed Harmony in her car seat and started the car. Once they left, I followed behind them. I breaking every law known to man.

I parked all crazy and they all ran out and rushed him into the building. I grabbed Harmony from her carseat and I walked in. I followed them until a nurse stopped me. "Ma'am. You and your daughter are going to have to wait out here." she told me. I nodded my head as I walked over to the one of the chairs and sat down. I placed Harmony on my lap as I started to cry. Harmony cried as well and I hugged her tightly. "Don't worry princess. Everything is gonna be okay. I'm right here with you." I kissed her head and rocked her to sleep.

Hours passed and still nothing. Harmony managed to cry herself to sleep. Poor kid, I can't imagine what she's feeling or what she's thinking. If I was her, I sure would be super scared because her only family member might die today. I decided to call her baby siter to come get her and take her home. Keep her mind off from all of this. She came in less than 10 minutes. I gave her Harmony and I thank her for everything.

Half an hour later, a doctor walked out. "Isabella?" I stood up and I walked over to him, "Yes. How is he?" I asked him. "He coughed out a lot of blood, but it's just a sign from the cancer. It was his body trying to reject the infection. It was good you called us, if you would have waited, he would have died. But he's breathing with a tube in ICU. You can go see him. but just remember he cannot talk." I wanted to cry again but I kept myself from doing that.

He led over to Jacob's room, and I walked into the room. I slowly walked over to him. He was asleep. I looked at the tube in his mouth and I just broke down and cried. Everything that happened a few months ago was all coming to me now. It's just how my mom passed away. I placed my head on his shoulder and I cried. Cried for a while.

I grabbed a chair and I sat next to him. I placed my hand on his. "I'm here Jacob. Harmony is safe and at home. Everything is gonna be okay." I cried again, "If you wanna let go, let go. I'm not gonna stop you. I don't wanna see you suffering anymore. I'll take care of Harmony I promise." I kissed his hand and continued to cry again.

It was around 8 pm when the babysiter called me. "Hello? Hi Brandy!" I said to the phone. "Yes. I'm still in the hosptial. ---- You can't stay any longer?" I sigh, "Alright, that's fine. You can bring her here. Just can you bring her some clothes and food please? Thank you very much." I hung up the phone and looked over at Jacob.

20 minutes later, the babysiter came in with Harmony. I grabbed the bag and Harmony from her. "Thank you so much. How much do I owe you?" I asked her "$80 because I worked for 8 hours." I smiled and handed her the money. I hugged her and she left the place.

Harmony ended up falling asleep around 10 pm because she was watching movies on netflix. She took the spare bed on the floor next to my bed. I yawned a bit and I looked over at Jacob. He was still asleep. I feel like he's in a coma.

I went over to the bigger bed across the room, and I slipped into the covers after taking off my shoes. I put in my headphones and I fell asleep.

The next morning, I woke up it was 9 am. I checked my phone and there was a missed call from Stephanie. Right as I was about to call her, the doctor walked in.

"Good morning everyone. Was Jacob asleep all night?" he asked. I nodded my head, "By the looks of it yeah, he did. Is everything okay?" The doctor nodded his head, "Yeah. We're just gonna take the tube from his mouth and see if he can breath alone now."

I nodded my head as I grabbed Harmony from the spare bed, and carry her gently. She was still asleep, so I didn't want to wake her.

I held her as I watched the nurses take the tube out. They took it out very quickly. Once it was out, Jacob woke up and started to cough. The nurses quickly gave him a breathing tube and he placed it in his nose. He gasped and then started to breath normally.

He looked over at me and smiled, "Hi princess." I started to cry, and smiled widely. "Oh my gosh, you're alright." I walked over to him and kissed him on the bed and hugged him.

Jacob sat up and I sat down next to him with Harmony in my arms. "Still asleep?" he asked me. I nodded my head again, "Yeah. She fell asleep around 10 last night. Poor girl. She cried herself to sleep when you got here. I felt her shaking when I grabbed her. I tried to make sure she didn't see you, but she did. And man was dramatizing for her."

I took the hair from her face as I looked down at her. Jacob kissed her head and sighed. "It didn't mean to make her cry." he said while looking down at her. I looked at him, "Hey. It's okay. Once she wakes up and sees you, she'll be alright." I said with a smile.
