First off, let me clarify: Diamondspirit kissed me. Not the other way around.

We stood in silence, blushing.

"That was ..."

"I'm so sorry. I have no idea what came over me. Will you forgive me?" Diamond said in a rush.

I smiled. "I ... I actually don't mind."

We stood half smiling at each other. We musta looked pretty stupid because there were a few mutters of inconsiderate kids.

A shadow fell across us.

"What do ye think ye're doing out here?"

It was Stoick.

"Uh, hi, sir, uh, we, uh ..."

"Diamondspirit, you know the rules. THAT IS OFF-CAMPUS STUFF ONLY."

Diamond hung his head. "Yessir."

Stoick turned to me. "Echogreen, I do hope you'll come to our banquet later today."

He nodded at both of us and left.

"Uh ..."

"I'm not going."

"Good. Ever since you came--"

"Two days ago."

"Right. Ever since you came two days ago, Stoick's been ..."

"Hoitey Toiety? Priss? Girly?"

"Uhm. Yeah. I guess you could say that." Diamond looked so scared, it was funny.

"Should we go to the diner now?" I asked.

Diamondspirit nodded. "Sure. It's not far away, we can walk."

I half-smiled. I had a feeling this might be the last time I saw him.

Diamondspirit took my hand in his and started walking.

We had barely gone two meters before I saw someone I knew. Someone who I needed to know something ...

"Hey, Jared, was it?" I called out.

The boy turned around, his hazel eyes glinting. "Yeah?"

"I thought ... I thought you had things to do at the dorms ..."

"Well, actually I'm a student here. I take these classes at random intervals during the day."

Now for the quesition. "You seem to be everywhere, why is that?"

Jared clame closer and Diamondspirit squeezed my hand protectively.

"I ... I just get around a lot. That's all."

I thought I could see something flash in his eyes. It looked like flames. Mentally shrugging it off, I dismissed the thought.

"Well, okay." I said warily.

"Duck fish goose."

"Huh?"

"Okay, we're going now." Diamondspirit said. He smiled "sweetly" at Jared before pulling me away.

"Why did you act all cold and hostile?" I asked Diamond.

"Uh, well ..." He blushed.

I rolled my eyes. "Right.Well, let's get going."

"To ...?"

"The diner. Or did you forget where we were going in your fit of jealousy?"

"No." Diamond said, suddenly getting defensive.
