"If only it was sooner." Tenten stood, solemn and tired.

Two weeks ago

"NEJIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!" Tenten hugged her fiance, "I loooooooooooooooooove you!"

"Hn, I love you too, Tenten." They were to be married in a week and Neji was trying to finish up preparations.

"Whatcha up to?" Tenten poked his cheek. Neji was reading an article. She looked at the screen.

"Ooh, that's the case you were working on this month!" Neji was the best lawyer of his class, no one could be compared.

"Hnn" He was rather preoccupied at the moment.

"You're so awesome!!!" Tenten had 3 more months of training and she would be a full-on police officer. Sometimes she envied him, but all the Hyugas were prodigies, not to be surpassed.

"Don't you have to leave?" Neji said as Tenten glanced at the clock.

"Yup! Bye!" Giving Neji a quick kiss on the cheek, she grabbed her stuff and left.

"Be safe Tenten," Neji said, but she had already shut the door.

At the office (afternoon)

Tenten was tired, again. She was supposed to be shadowing Sasuke Uchiha, who was at the moment, flirting with his husband. Naruto was never any help on cases, but he put the Uchiha in a happier mood. She got up to get some coffee, ignoring the smooching behind her. I wonder what Neji's up to?

CRASH!

"Huh?" Tenten looked down at her broken ceramic mug and bleeding hand.

"Miss Tenten, are you alright?" Sasuke and Naruto had turned to the noise.

"I'm fine, I don't know what happened." Tenten was confused.

"Lemme get ya a bandage, ya know?"

"Thank you Naruto." Something was wrong, Tenten just couldn't figure it out. Maybe she was just tired. After bandaging herself up, she went back to work, coffee forgotten. The Uchiha was hard to shadow, he would say nothing and if she asked something, he would explain it as if she was an idiot. Time passed as she hovered over his shoulder doing meaningless small tasks to keep herself busy.

Tenten smiled, Neji's text messages were always so formal.

With Neji at home

Neji looked at his phone,

Message from Tenten:

Dumplings! From Mr. Taka!

He smiled, of course that's what she wanted. He looked at the time, 5:30, and decided to go pick up the dumplings in fifteen minutes. At the moment, he was writing out invitations. Tenten's messy handwriting was near impossible to decipher. After filling five out, he looked up, 5:45. He put on his shoes and left.

Back at the office

"SASUKE!" Naruto shouted across the room, "You know the guy who was just arrested for mass murder?"

"Yes?" Sasuke finally looked up from his work.

"We've gotten word that he has had contact with one of his subordinates, something about making a certain someone pay!" Immediately, Sasuke and Naruto turned to Tenten as this "certain someone" was likely to be her fiance.

"Shit." Sasuke turned to Tenten, "Call Neji immediately, and ask for his location." Tenten frantically opened her phone, though she already knew where he was. Come on, pick up Neji.

"Yes?" Tenten sighed with relief at Neji's voice.

"Where are you?"

"On the way to Mr. Taka's, I'm pulling up to his store. Why?" Tenten quickly informed Sasuke.

"Someone is out to get you, we just sent people over to help."

"I'll be fine, Ten. If that's the case, I'm more concerned about you." Tenten sighed, of course he thought he was fine.

"Just be careful, okay?"

"You too, see you later. Stay with someone else at all times okay?"

"Okay, bye." Neji was always more concerned about her. Tenten had no idea if Neji would be okay, but she trusted Sasuke to do what was right.
