All You Left Me

A new life

Two months later:

At first, Tenten went to his grave every day, but her leave from work was coming to an end. Instead, she went every time she was upset, which still almost every other day. In two months, she would be an officer, but until then, she had to continue her shadowing. This morning, Tenten felt slightly uneasy, brushing it off she headed to work. She tied her hair back in her signature buns, brushing her bangs away. All the chaos resulted in her hair in desperate need of a cut.

"MORNIN' Ten! Sasuke's birthday is in a week, ya know?" Naruto was the first to greet her. His blue eyes were as bright as ever, slightly irritating her. Tenten knew what her eyes looked like, dull dead and brown. There was no reason to be happy when the one she loved was six feet under.

"Yes, I am aware of that. You've talked about it for the past month, every day." Brushing past him, she suddenly stopped and put her hand on a desk. Bile had risen to the back of her throat and her ears rang.

"Tenten?" Naruto followed her over, "Are ya okay?" His loud voice made the brunette wince.

"I feel sick." Getting back up, she rushed to the bathroom and threw up.

knock, knock

"Miss Tenten, are you all right?" The Uchiha's voice was as formal as ever. Though, even on the other side of the door, she could tell he was worried.

"I'm fine, probably something I ate." Clearly, that was a lie considering she hadn't eaten for the past day or so. Rinsing her mouth, she made sure she looked presentable before exiting.

"Ya know, you can go home if ya aren't feelin' well," Naruto said.

"I'm fine, I already said that." But she wasn't, she was tired and had an awful headache.

"YOSH MY YOUTHFUL FRIENDS!!! COME MEET MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE!!!" A man had come in with a horrible bowl cut. His voice continued to split her head in half and his teeth blinded her.

"Oh, bushy brows is back." The blonde sighed.

"Who?" Though Tenten had been working at the office for a while, she was sure she'd remember someone so...obnoxious?

"His name is Rock Lee, he's the same rank as Naruto, but has been on working with the Nara's group trying to find more information on the Akatsuki gang." She looked at the Uchiha, not missing his obvious distaste for the man.

"He got married a week before, uh, Neji, uh-"

"Died." Her voice came out flat and all emotions left her face. There was no reason to mumble, Neji was dead and there was no fixing it.

"MAI, MY LOVE, PLEASE GREET MY FRIENDS!" Behind the man stood a petite woman who gave off a Hawaiian aura. Her hair went past her waist, and her eyes were big and warm.

"Aloha everyone!" Tenten's vision went fuzzy and she nearly crashed to the floor. Her hands were splayed in front of her as she tried to focus.

"YOUNG LADY, ARE YOU ALL RIGHT???" The brunette looked up, coming face to face with Lee. His caterpillar-like eyebrows were furrowed in concern. Tenten avoided his gaze and turned to the blonde.

"Naruto, I may just take up your suggestion. I'm heading to the hospital."

"ALLOW MAI AND I TO ESCORT YOU!!!" The poor woman was squished into a hug, clearly uncomfortable.

"er-" Tenten wasn't sure how to refuse his offer.

"I'm sure she'll be fine honey, leave her be." Throwing Mai an appreciative glance, Tenten grabbed her coat and left.

At Konoha hospital

"According to our tests, you are 12 weeks pregnant." Sakura paused, "I'm not sure how you didn't feel the symptoms earlier."

"I was probably grieving so much I didn't notice." Tenten wasn't quite registering what the pink-haired woman said. "Wait...could you repeat that?"

"Tenten, you are 12 weeks pregnant."

"Uh-huh, still not getting it." The brunette was confused. Sakura sighed.

"Let me have someone else repeat that." Leaning out the door she shouted, "Yamanaka get over here!" Tenten was confused, Yamanaka? Could it be?

"TENNY!!!" Sure enough, her blonde friend had burst into the room. The blonde had started training recently and was loving the job. Giant hoop earrings swayed back and forth, almost hypnotizing.

"I need you to tell Tenten that she is 12 weeks pregnant," Sakura told Ino. The blonde's eyes lit up as her grin widened.

"Okey! Tenny, you're pregnant with Neji's kid!"

"Okay..." Still in a daze, Tenten drove herself home. The words kept running through her head until it clicked. Quickly, she turned the car around, heading to his grave. Dark clouds began to fill the sky as water fell.

"Neji, you're a father," She sighed, "What do I do? We never discussed having children." Her hair was soaked against her face as she stood in front of the stone.

"..." Silence echoed through the cemetery. As if realizing she wasn't getting a response, Tenten sniffled as tears leaked out of her eyes. Furiously, she wiped them away.

"What do I do?"

7 years later

"Sumire, Haku, come on." Tenten picked up her daughter as her pigtails hung loosely, "We're visiting papa."

"Coming mama!" A young boy ran up to the woman. His dark brown hair was held in a braid. Turns out Sakura was wrong, she wasn't having a kid, she had two.

"Ne, ne, guess what papa!" Sumire asked the stone. "Haku and I are gonna be police like mama!!!" Tenten had become one of the best there was and had received multiple awards.

"We're gonna catch all the bad guys!" Tenten smiled at her children.

"You see how much they've grown?" She paused, "If you were here, it'd be so much easier." The wind blew, and she swore heard a faint voice,

"You did just fine, they're perfect. I love all of you." It was hardly a whisper, but Tenten clung to it.

"Neji?"

"..."

Perhaps it was just her imagination.

"Come on, let's go back home." Backs turned, they began walking. If Tenten had looked back, she would have seen a faint outline of her fiance, smiling.

"I love you, Tenten. I'm glad you're okay."
