y/n was a student majoring in the arts. Varian, if not obvious, was studying in fields of science. y/n had grown up in old corona but moved to corona capital for the best possible education, and a personal invite from her best friend and teacher Rapunzel. it was a spring event in the capital, and since Varians' school had been running low on recent supplies only produced in the capital the school decided it would be best for the students to do a project on flowers and other various things. Varian, although not particularly happy about going to the capital, he was happy to do a project on flowers. y/n's school was also preparing a project for the students. they must do two things, draw out their chosen flower and a base sketch for a mini float and actually work with the department of engineering to build the mini float. once the festival had begun y/n ran off to find an orange blossom, after all it was a unique flower with strong power to power small items, it was beautiful. Varian had also had been happening upon the flower for his project. at first he just ignored the h/c haired girl doodling the flower but he began to notice her notes about the power that the flower possessed. Varian didn't realize he was leaning over to snoop at her notes until y/n slammed her notebook shut. Varian looked surprised and slightly embarrassed while y/n just smiled and laughed lightly. "if you wanted to look at my notes to copy, you could've just asked. you're from old corona university, right?" Varian kept his mouth shut and just nodded, afraid he would say something very awkward. y/n continued to smile and held out her hand, "well, I'm y/n l/n. nice to meet you, what's your name?" Varian shook her hand and cleared his throat, "Varian. it's nice meeting you, what are your studies?" y/n smiled and opened up her sketch book to the page with the orange blossom. "the arts, it's a lot more fun with the princess's help and guidance. we're suppose to be making a mini float for show. I've decided to do one about the orange blossom since it'll be easier to use it's already natural power-" "to make it run on its own! thats a fantastic idea! how are you planning to get it to work though?" Varian completed her sentence before she handed her sketchbook over to him. "look, if I can get an engineer student to help me wire it correctly it should work as an infinite loop situation." Varian shook his head and rubbed the back of his neck, clearly thinking differently. "no, that won't work. wires will just cause it to burn the blossoms. what you need, is a scientist, and luckily im in the business for a project of my own. so, what do you say, want to be project partners?" y/n raised an eyebrow and smirked a little. "sure, how long do you think it'll take for you to the the chemicals ready and have enough?" Varian thought about it for a second and started to write down some math and the chemicals he would need. "alright, should take me about an hour or two. how about you, how long do you need to get the float right?" y/n smiled and nodded. "I've been working with the fast engineer student for forever, we'll be done in about 2 and half hours. make sure to bring it to, this spot." y/n drew a small map and ripped it out and handed it to Varian while marking an x behind the water fountain. "feel free to stop by any time if you need anything!" y/n said while running off before Varian could object. about two hours later, Varian had perfected the solution to keep the flowers active long enough for the mini float to get from the center to the edge of town. Varian looked at the map and took a deep breath. once he reached the spot he heard to people laughing. he couldn't help but over hear the conversation. "y/n! I can't believe you! your father strictly said no dating people in this school!" the dean's daughter? what was she doing with y/n? "exactly my point! this school! Varian doesn't go to this school, therefore, I can date him. even if I could I'm 90 percent sure he doesn't like me already. I've been like a little weird stalker and he only met me today!" y/n's voice explained while tearing sheets of paper. "y/n. over hearing him from the dorm is not stalking. plus, I'm sure he remembers you deep down. you took care of Rudiger before he was allowed to switch schools." Varians' eyes went wide as he remembered y/n's smile. "I knew it! I knew I knew her from somewhere!" Varian quietly celebrated. Rapunzel sighed looked up at y/n who was making sure the flowers were perfect. "well, I best go find where he is. hopefully he's not having too much trouble with the formula." Varian got worried and quickly dodged back a little bit to act like he hadn't heard anything and walked forward to the two. "y/n! I'm finished with the formula, only apply it as soon as the parade begins or it won't last." y/n smiled brightly and ran over to Varian giving him a hug. "thank you Varian! I seriously can't thank you enough!" y/n said as she backed off and held his hands. "come on, the parade should begin. I asked Rapunzel if I could be last and she said yes so I'm going to grab something to munch on while watching the parade. why don't you join me?" y/n said calmly and held out her hand. Varian smiled softly and took her hand, to which he was instantly pulled to Monte's sweet shop. it was finally y/n's floats turn, she dabbed a few drops of the solution onto the flowers hidden within the wheels and it began to move through out the city. once it was done Varian walked over to y/n who was ecstatic about how it worked. "holy cow! it worked! I was sort of expecting something to go wrong." Varian admitted softly as he scratched his head. "yeah, but it didn't! ah! I'm so glad you helped. I did some math and you were right! it would've set the entire thing on fire if I used wires." Varian shook his head, "I should be thanking, and apologizing, to you. thank you for taking care of Rudiger before I got to go back. and, sorry I forgot about you." y/n flushed and waved her hand in a dismissive way. "it was no big deal really! I loved to take care of that little rascal. how you managed to keep him on campus was confusing but I wasn't objecting." the two laughed slightly and Varian grabbed a vial with some f/c liquid in it, though it looked more like thick like slime or gel. "I made this for you, since I had extra time. just open it when you get back in your dorm room, and don't let anyone else see it. okay?" y/n looked at him funnily before nodding and slipping it in her pocket. "yeah, alright. hey! look over there!" Varian shifted his head to, nothing. soon he felt a light weight on his head. he looked up and saw a flower crown of orange blossoms. "something, to remember me by. when you go back. oh, and say hi to Rudiger for me!" y/n said smiling as she ran off into the crowd. "damn. I need to start stealing more of those supplies." Varian thought out loud before heading back home.
