• 안녕하세요.
/annyeonghaseyo/
- hello/goodbye
- most common way of greeting someone

• 안녕히 계세요.
/annyeonghi gyeseyo/
- Stay in peace.
- used if you are leaving and the other person is (or the other people are) staying

• 안녕히 가세요.
/annyeonghi gaseyo/
- Go in peace.
- used if you are staying and the other(s) is/are leaving

• 반갑습니다.
/ban-gapseumnida/
- Nice to meet you.
* the ㅂ before 니다 is pronounced as /m/

감사합니다.
/kamsahamnida/
- Thank you.
- most commonly used formal way
* ㅂ is pronounced again as /m/

• 네/아니요.
- Yes (agreement) / No (disagreement)
- Yes and no in Korean is a little bit weird but I'm gonna talk about it soon.

• 맞아요.
/majayo/
- That's right!

•죄송합니다.
/joesonghamnida/
- I apologize./I'm sorry. (It was MY bad./Excuse me.)
× never use 죄송합니다 when they talk about some bad news and you want to say "I'm sorry to hear that," NO! It's a NO NO! So be careful in using this.

• 저기요.
/jeogiyo/
- Excuse me.
* can be used at the these situations:
- when you want to get someone's attention and talk to them or let them know something
- when you want to call the waiter in a restaurant or a cafe to order something

• 잠시만요./죄송합니다./잠까만요.
/jamshimanyo/ / /joesonghamnida/ / /jamkkamanyo/
- Just a second./ I am sorry./ Just a second.
* Yea 잠시만요 & 잠까만요 are the same thing.
- you can say this when you want to pass through

• 미안해요.
/mianhaeyo/
- I'm sorry.

• 이거 뭐예요?
/igeo mwoyeyo?/
- What is this?

• 저거 뭐예요?
/jeogeo mwoyeyo?/
- What is that?

• 이것
/igeo/ (silent t)
- This one./This thing.
- use with pointing to indicate something nearby
- e.g. 이것 좋아요. /igeo jowayo/ : I like this one.

• 저것
/jeogeo/
- That one./That thing.
- use with pointing to indicate something nearby near the listener

• 그것
/geugeo/
- That one./That thing.
- use with pointing to indicate something both far from the speaker and listener

• 좋아요.
/johayo/
- I like it.

• 좋아해요.
/johahaeyo/
- I like you.

• -주세요.
/juseyo/
- Please/Please give...
- put this on any end of a verb stem to make it a polite request

• -어디예요?
/-eodiyeyo?/
- Where is the ...?

• ... 빼주세요.
/... bbaejuseyo/
- Please remove.../Please leave out...
- e.g. 토마토 빼주세요 /tomato bbaejuseyo/ : Please leave out the tomato./No tomato, please.

• 얼마예요?

- How much is it?

• 가까주세요.
/kakkajuseyo/
- Please give me a discount.

• -있어요?
/-isseoyo?/
- Do you have ...?

•모르겠어요./몰라요.
/moreugesseoyo/ / /mollayo/
- I do not know./I don't know.

• 한국말 잘 못해요.
/hangukmal jal mothaeyo/
- I can't speak Korean well.
