Blair's POV

"Blair!" Nikki yelled running over to me. Her fiery red hair flying back as she hugged me, she looked up at me, her green eyes boring into me.

"What do you want?" I asked laughing. Nikki was a new member of my pack and one of my favorites because she was extremely friendly. Though she didn't quite fit into the pack, she was a lot weaker than our weakest person. But I think that she trains my pack to be a lot kinder, hopefully she'll rub off on all of us, even our toughest members.

"Mark's being mean to me again!" she said sitting next to me while Mark glared at her.

"Oh shut up Nikki. I was just saying that your short." Mark said jokingly leaning across our lunch table to ruffle Nikki's hair. Everyone laughed as the calm Nikki turned as red as a tomato.

"Be nice to Nikki, don't be mean just because she's too good for you." The pack erupted in laughter again at Drake's joke. The guys having more fun with it than the girls.

"Won't you beat up Mark for me?" Nikki asked me.

"Yeah beat him up!" Amber said cheering me on, everyone else nodded in agreement, loving every chance they can to humiliate Mark. Though Mark was my beta and best friend he sometimes let the power get to his head, making him everyone's least favorite person. But it at least kept them all in line.

"Oh come on guys, Mark's a good man." I said and they agreed though they seemed disappointed in the lack of a fight. "A good man." I repeated muttering to myself then continued. "Though I'll have to have him checked out by the doctors, I mean who in their right mind causes trouble with the main pack."

"You weren't there Blair it was awesome. Nikki and a few others in our pack sat at their table. Not even thinking about it and then the main pack came, oh were they furious. Immediately trying to bully their spot back. But Mark ordered them away." Jamie said excited, he was the second weakest in the pack and idolized Mark.

Though I was happy that Mark's green eyes were gleaming with happiness, I also thought that maybe his blond hair was affecting his intelligence. I mean messing with the Alpha Moon aka the Full Moon pack was suicidal.

"Was it that amazing?" A piercing voice asked right as I realized that the lunch room was especially quiet. I looked over my shoulder to see who was talking. The speaker was a tall male with light brown hair and bright blue eyes. Ethan.

"What do you want Ethan?" Mark asked standing up and I got up as well.

"Shut up Mark, who do you think you are?" I growled glaring at him, if anyone was starting a fight with the Full Moon alpha it would be me.

I took a deep breath then faced Ethan. "What do you want Ethan?" I asked nicely while eyeing his comrades.

"Actually I wanted to talk to you." Ethan said giving a small smile while both packs tensed.

"I'm listening."

"How about you and your pack join us, become part of the Full Moon pack."

Anger did not even describe my feelings. "What did you say?" I asked innocently with venom. My teeth coming out, my wolf wanting a fight.

"I heard him." Mark said standing up and coming to my side. I pushed him back.

"I asked you to join the Night Howl pack to the Full Moon pack." he said innocently like he believed I actually didn't hear him.

I stepped forward. Ethan stepped forward meeting my challenge putting us toe to toe. Ethan looked down at me while I glared up at him. "What's wrong my dear Blair?" he whispered fiercely to me, smiling down at me.

Before I could reply, Ethan went flying back. Mark has lost it and had tackled Ethan. Without a second hesitation both packs began fighting.

"Stop!" I yelled. "If any of my pack hits or attacks without my permission, I will personally kill you." the coldness in my voice stopped everyone in my pack. All waiting for my instruction, letting Ethan pack hit them. Before anyone got a second hit, Ethan stopped his pack as well and everyone stepped away from each other.

I growled and locked eyes with Mark. "What are you doing?" I didn't wait for an answer. "I don't need a weak beta to start my fights, I don't need you risking the life of my pack because of your anger. Join another pack if you want to cause problems!"

"I was just backing you up. Please down be mad Blair." Mark begged looking down.

"I will punish you later, now get out of my sight." I hissed while turning to Ethan. "I'm sorry about Mark but I'm not joining your pack."

"I understand, I'm not mad. The offer out there though, so chew on it. You might want to change your mind, seeing as you can't even trust your second in command." Ethan said turning away with his pack and walking out of the lunch room.

"Now you guys." I turned to the rest of my pack. "Who's alpha?" I asked loudly.

"You are." they said.

"Who?" I asked again.

"You are!" They yelled.

"So why the heck did you react to Mark?"

"He's the beta Blair." Nikki said like it answered everything.

"Exactly he's the beta, if I'm around you don't listen to him you listen to me."

"Yes Blair." They all answered.

"Now go spread the word. Tell the rest of the pack. Mark is on a temporary cessation. He has no power. Spread the word and tell Mark to meet me by the river." No one moved. "Go!" I yelled.

Never before have I had to yell at my pack. I shook my head and ran outside the now empty cafeteria. I continued out of the building and went into the woods, running until I reached the river.

I didn't have to wait long, Mark came into sight soon enough. "Hey Blair." I didn't reply to him so he continued. "I'm sorry Blair. I just been losing my temper lately. You know I just want to protect you."

I couldn't hold it in everything was catching up to me. I dropped to my knees crying. Mark rushed forward and pulled me into his arms. "Mark you know my parents died and here I am leading this rouge pack." I took in a breath. " I can't do it, I'll give them up if it means they'll live. I can't lead without you Mark. You're my best friend, I need your support, I can't be fighting with you for control. I need you to lead along side me and together we'll hide our emotions from everyone except each other. We don't want the pack to be affected by our emotions we are suppose to be stronger than that."

"I agree. I'm on your side. I'm here with you Blair. I won't let my emotions get to me."

We had a spilt second of happiness, pure bliss. We were both together smiling. Nothing was wrong. Once again we could just be friends without having to control a whole pack. We weren't Alpha and Beta but two equals.

Then the howl of distress rung throughout the woods. First from Jamie, then from Zoey, lastly from Rick our third strongest wolf. This was some big trouble, if they were calling in Mark and I. I took in a deep breath and we both once again became Alpha and Beta. The leaders of the Night Howl pack.
