Chapter six.
Blair's POV
"What the heck happen?" Mark asked as I came storming into the camp. He glared at Justin and Noah but followed me. "What happened Blair?" Mark asked again as he began to trail me.
"Ethan is being an ass again and I just want to beat him up." I growled not sure why I was so angry.
"His grandfather said that Blair is now a possible suitor for Ethan." Justin said calmly.
"And if I know Ethan, he'll just marry me to piss me off, why not make my life miserable." I groaned. "I mean come on, his grandfather picked Victoria and I, we are completely different people, how can we both be candidates?"
"Does it matter if she's a candidate?" Mark asked.
I was about to scream yes as the image of him walking off with her came forward but then I realized that shouldn't bother me. So because I wasn't sure how to answer I didn't and Justin saved me, when he interjected. "This probably isn't the best time ever to be mentioning it but we need to get out plan approved, so we can start building the cabins. Blair would you mind getting Ethan to sign this?" Justin asked me while handing over the paper which had details about all the cabins we wanted to build, but before we could build them we needed Ethan's permission. "Why me!" I exclaimed to the world.
"I'll go with you Blair." Mark said.
"Fine you can both go. Just hurry up, no diddle dattle. We are on patrol tonight and you two are helping if you'd like to or not." Justin ordered.
I grabbed Mark's hand and took off before Justin could change his mind. "I don't want to see Ethan but at least we get to hang out alone for a bit." I said enjoying our walk. Mark and I haven't had a good talk since I joined the Night Howl pack to the Full Moon pack.
This wasn't going to be the long awaited talk but it could still bring us closer. "You know..." Mark began then stopped.
"What just tell me"
"You seem to have a thing for Ethan." I was about to protest but then he continued. "Hear me out, he's you dream guy. Strong, hot, and just as stubborn as you." Mark stopped for a second so it could all sink in. Once he thought I understood he continued. "You have alpha blood in you Blair, you can only love another alpha. No other man will do unless they're equally as strong. Even a beta like me was rejected." Mark said and we both went silent.
Two years ago Mark had confessed that he liked me and even I so inexperience with love could sense it wasn't true love but just a deep bond that's created between friends and because we were alpha-beta.
"I knew after you rejected me that my love was not that of a lover but more of the love between a brother and sister. But you knew that way before I did, I guess that's why you're the alpha." Mark continued kicking a rock as he spoke.
I looked over to my blonde haired friend with the emerald green eyes and softly spoke. "I hope you're wrong about me liking Ethan, I really hope your wrong."
Mark didn't reply and I was beginning to suspect that he hadn't heard me. But then he spoke "If you really want me to be wrong then by Heaven and Earth I pray to God I'm wrong." Mark said trusting my judgment and ending the conversation right on time because we were just about to enter the main camp.
Before we could even step into the camp though a girl with long black hair that reach more than half way down her back stepped in front of us. Her dark brown eyes even darker than mine.
"What are you two doing in the main camp?" she asked glaring at us both.
"Well technically were not in the main camp yet." I replied and pushed her back a bit while stepping into her place. Mark came up right beside me. "Now were in the main camp." I said my alpha pride taking over.
"Just tell me why you're here" she growled looking up at me.
"And just who exactly are you?" I asked sounding bored.
"I'm Jane! Chase's girlfriend and forth in command under Ethan." She yelled glaring daggers at me, probably wishing she could rip my throat out.
"Well then I guess you're not...." I got cut off before I could finish saying important enough to talk to.'
"Well were here under the order of Justin and in behalf of the outer guards. We have a building plan that needs to be signed by Ethan. So could you be so kind as to lead us to him?" Mark asked sounding more mature and humble then when he was beta in my pack.
Jane didn't say anything to us, she just muttered to herself while turning around and walking off. Mark and I took that as a yes and followed behind her. She lead us through the whole camp until we got towards the middle.
Near the middle was a cabin bigger than the rest. Jane stopped and knocked on the door while probably sending Ethan a mental message.
It didn't take long for the door to fly open to reveal an irritated Ethan. His jeans were undone and his shirt was no where to be seen while his hair was more ruffled than normal.
"What do you want?" He growled then he caught sight of me looking at him and he smirked. Making me blush and think back to the conversation I had with Mark. "I'm in the middle of a meeting right now, can this wait?" he asked Mark while I pieced together that he was with Victoria right now, her scent was all over him. The anger I felt could only be compared to the anger I felt at the pack who killed my parents. I was also quite shocked, to think I feel in love with a whore.
"We can leave right away if you sign this." Mark said handing over the plan and a pen. Ethan roughly grabbed them and signed it without a second glance, he then handed it back to Mark.
"Don't let there be anymore disruptions Jane." Ethan warned as he slammed the door in our faces.
"Well, that was easier than I thought." Mark said as we headed back to camp. I didn't say anything. I refused to speak worried about what might come out of my mouth.
"What's wrong Blair." Mark asked concerned.
I didn't even have the guts to tell Mark what I figured out and what it means for me. Not until Justin came out from behind a tree and came over to us.
He gave me a quick glance of concern then talked to Mark. "Did he sign them?"
"Yea." Mark said handing the papers to Justin.
"Did he look closely at them?" Justin asked.
"No he was in the middle of sex with Victoria." Mark said piecing it together the same way I did. But still it hurt almost like a physical blow.
"Cool that means we all get three weeks off and flat screen TVs." Justin said "I put it in just in case he didn't read it through. I knew I could get us some stuff." Justin said smiling but then stopped and looked at me.
"Are you okay Blair?" he asked as he felt my forehead.
"No, no I'm not okay." I said a few tears coming down my cheek. "I think I like Ethan."
"Oh that's nothing to cry about you are in the top ten of the suitors." Justin said not getting my feeling at all. But Mark understood.
"Are you really going to leave? It really is okay to love him." Mark said.
"I cannot fall in love with a man who took over my pack, one who is having sex with some else right now, and someone who tried to insult me by putting me in the outer guard and hurt me by putting me with you, Mark. A man like him, I shouldn't have fallen for."
"So your just going to leave?" Justin growled.
"I have to. I'll go insane if I stay here watching him love another. Anyhow I was never suppose to be here. How many alphas join another pack as a guard. None. I will leave and become a lone wolf."
"You can't leave me and the rest of the pack. You even got new friends." Mark yelled pointing at Justin.
"But I got to and you'll protect the rest of the pack won't you?" I asked but didn't wait for an answer. I shifted into my wolf and took off towards the pack's boundary.
