I laid my head and arm on the toilet lid. I closed my eyes trying to ease the headache I've had all night that went along with my throwing up when i woke up. I tried to be quiet but I knew that in a palace of vampires, someone would hear me. I jumped when i heard the first knock. "Alexa? Alexa open up!" yelled Sebastian as he banged onto my door. I was about to answer when I threw up in the toilet. I heard the door being broken down and Sebastian was in the bathroom in a second. "What's wrong?"
I looked over my shoulder at him. "What do you think?" i groaned. "I'm sick. Why else would i be sitting in front of the toilet?"
"Why?" he asked, looking at me confused.
"Why am i sick?" I asked. He nodded, still looking at me confused. "Humans get sick sometimes Sebastian, it's not a big deal." I coughed. I turned back to the toilet throwing up what was left in my stomach. My throat burned and my mouth was dry.
"You're in pain, of course it's a big deal." he brought his hand up to mouth, slicing his palm with his fangs. He kneeled down beside me. "Here, drink," he said holding his palm out to me. I shook my head. "I know it's gross, mea soare, but it will heal you, please."
"It won't work."
"What are you-"
"Vampire magic doesn't work on me," i said, slumping my body against him. I felt him stiffen before he pulled me onto his lap. I closed my eyes and laid my head on his chest. "Can you bring me to my bed? I wanna lay down."
He picked me up and walked us back into the bedroom setting me on my bed. He sat down next to me. "Can i ask you something?" he asked quietly. I nodded. "What do you mean vampire magic doesn't work on you?" he asked, running his hand up and down my back.
"After i was born, Beth, Carlson, and my parents found a witch who put a protection spell on me. Vampires can't compel me, vampire blood won't heal me, and i can use commands like you and your family can to control other vampires."
"How is that even possible? A single witch isn't powerful enough to do that. There might be a coven but most of those covens are dark witches so i don't think they'd help you without getting something in return."
"Sebastian, i don't know," i whined. "I was a baby."
"I'm sorry, i didn't mean to upset you," he said, nervously. "I'm gonna get a doctor for you." i was about to talk when he sped out of my room. I closed my eyes and wrapped myself in my blanket. He came back in holding a girl with straight black hair and porcelain skin around my age. He set her down. "Fix her."
"Oh hello Brianna. You look lovely today. How have you been? Do you have time to help me with something?" The girl mocked.
"Brianna," Sebastian growled.
"Darrian, my love, would you come in here please?" she yelled. Darrian walked inside the room and over to her. He kissed her cheek. She smiled. "What's wrong with Sebastian?"
"There isn't enough time in the day to explain everything that is wrong with him," Darrian chuckled. He turned to Sebastian. "My lord, why did you kidnap my mate? You know she doesn't like it when you do that."
"Alexa is sick," he said. "Fix her."
Brianna walked over to me. She smiled. "You must be Alexa, i'm Darrian's mate Brianna."
"It's nice to meet you."
"So I heard Sebastian kidnapped you, that must have been an adventure. Darrian and I thought he should have courted you but mr. Impatient over here just had to have you right away." I couldn't help the giggle that left my mouth. She smiled. "Darrian courted me for months before he finally told me what he was and even then I was terrified."
