Pacifica stared at the space where Dipper had fallen.

He was gone. Just like her parents, just like everyone. All because of that stupid triangular demon Bill! Pacifica put the beat-up sports car in gear.

"You just took away the last thing I cared about, you stupid bat," Pacifica whispered.

The creature hovered at the end of the bridge, eye roaming, as if still looking for Dipper.

"But you chose the wrong person to mess with," she hissed, "I'm a Northwest. And we never lose." Her foot slammed the gas pedal to the floor and the car shot forward onto the bridge.

Ahead, the Eyebat looked up as if noticing the car for the first time.

Pacifica's car hurtled across the bridge, flying through the Eyebat's angry orange gaze. The hood of the car began flaking into stone. Pacifica jerked her hands from the steering wheel as it and the entire dashboard began transforming as well.

She quickly flipped the latch to the side door and kicked it open as it too turned to stone, freezing in place.

The Eyebat suddenly let out a horrible screech, as it realized the car wasn't going to stop. Pacifica smiled sadly, tears in her eyes, then jumped backward out the door as the vehicle left the bridge.

As she fell she saw the flying creature crumple with a scream as the sports car - half metal, half stone - pummeled directly into the center of its eye and tore through, tumbling out the back of its head.

The Eyebat fell silently, and Pacifica fell with it. She closed her eyes, wondering what it would feel like when she finally hit the —

    Somebody caught her.

She opened her eyes in surprise as the person stumbled and fell back, padding Pacifica's fall with their body.

Pacifica groaned, rolling off her rescuer and sitting up. She was alive; someone had saved her. But who? How?

Pacifica brushed her hair out of her eyes and peered at the groaning person sitting up next to her, holding his hand to his forehead. Her mouth dropped open in shock.

    "D-Dipper?" she stammered.

Dipper Pines looked over at her with an amused - and slightly breathless - look on his face.

"You Northwests are insane," he said, coughing, "You nearly got yourself killed."

"Dipper!" Pacifica cried, throwing her arms around him, pressing her head into the hug. Dipper stiffened, surprised. Then he relaxed, falling into the hug too.

"I thought you were dead," she whispered, tears welling in her eyes once more.

    "It's okay, Pacifica. I ... I'm still here."

Pacifica held him a moment longer, exalting in the feel of him. He wasn't dead! Dipper Pines wasn't dead!

Slowly and gently, Dipper pulled out of the hug, face a little flushed. Pacifica let him pull back. He was alive! But ... how was that even possible? They should both be dead.

Pacifica looked around for the first time.

"Um, where is 'here', anyway?" Pacifica asked, feeling the hard flat surface the two of them knelt on.

Then the ground shifted, throwing both of them down on their sides as the ground rose, lurched forward, and fell again violently.

Dipper groaned climbing back to his feet, then helping pull Pacifica up to hers.
