The house shook again, dust pouring down from the ceiling boards with a gentle hiss.

Dipper sat silently on the ground against the side of the old couch. He hugged his knees to his chest, staring at his battered shoes.

Someone coughed quietly across the room. Dipper glanced up as the Jeff the Gnome scuttled over to the Multibear, toting a bottle of water and a rag.

The Multibear lay on its side on the shaggy rug, shivering and coughing, sweat matting the fur on its many foreheads. Jeff began dabbing the bear's foreheads.

The Multibear wasn't the only one brought low with fever. Many others throughout this main room coughed and shivered as well. On the couch, Toby Determined moaned beneath the blanket that had once covered Dipper's bed. Across the room, comforted by Robbie, Wendy shifted weakly, coughing quietly in the dim light.

Both had dark bags beneath their eyes. Two weeks of siege would do that to you.

The house shook violently again. Dust poured down from above, dusting over the room's ragged occupants.

Dipper removed his hat, brushing off the layer of dust, revealing the simple design on the front - a pine tree.

He felt numb; disbelieving. After all they had been through, this was it. The end. The last moments, the final breath.

There had been a plan, once, to fight back. A plan to build something wonderous, to bring the Mystery Shack itself against Bill in a heroic effort to save Ford.

But the plan required equipment and machinery. They had succeed in salvaging some from the decimated town outside, but the cost had been too great. They'd lost their engineers. McGucket and Candy and Soos ... all had been lost to the Weirdness and stone when Bill had spotted them, sending his entire force against them.

They had fled. The engineers - the only chance at building a machine capable of reclaiming the Falls - taken.

    They had failed. Again.

The house shook, and through the window Dipper watched as the web of cracks spread across the Shack's defenses expanded with a sharp crackling sound. Beyond the barrier, shadows and silhouettes of chaos danced and smashed against the force field. Lights flashed and flames burned.

Inside the Mystery Shack, the survivors of Weirdmageddon, the last bit of normal, shivered as house shook again and dust poured down from the ceiling boards with a gentle hiss.
