I'm making a story that came to my mind while I was busy dozing off, procrastinating and not doing my online work for school when I was having an existential crisis.

Yes, I was having an existential crisis.

Anyways, I thought to myself people have heard of what would happen to their soul when they die, right? They either go to heaven or hell. But what about the people who lived a mediocre life? They did good, but they also did bad. Whatever they've done, their new actions will always contradict what they have done.

Maybe they're part of something bad, maybe this something could lead to the destruction of.. I don't know.. other people? Others might think that this person is horrible, that their actions define who they truly are... but what if the things they do is for a good cause? Maybe it's to save someone or they might be doing it to actually stop this destruction by joining it just to slowly cease it?

People have heard of heaven and hell, but what about the middle? Not many people seem to know anything about it.

Purgatory.

This is what Christians and Catholics call "The In Between."

It is the last chance given to the person who's sinned, but for a good cause. It is the last chance for the people who've done wrong for good. It is the last chance for the people who've done both good and bad. It is a chance for them to prove themselves.

It is a chance for either redemption or eternal suffering.

Now I might sound crazy, but what if your life was your first chance? That going to Purgatory is your second chance?

Purgatory is a place to prove yourself, but you have a certain amount of time when your final judgement day is coming.

To some people, their judgement day would usually end with a conclusion to make them go to heaven or hell.

But what if they weren't... going to heaven or hell?

Think about it, have you ever heard of lawsuits that end with a draw?

Believe it or not, there are some cases that are not solved with one final decision. It's quite rare, that's why you don't usually hear it or know about it. I didn't either! But it's true.

In my theory, or in what I previously called it, story, the setting of it is in Purgatory.

The story revolves around this girl who hasn't lived nor died.

She was never alive, but she was never dead.

She is the one who escorts the person, who's case is left unsolved, to the gates of The In Between. There, the person proves themselves.

Basically, the drawing is about how the girl longs to see the living world, but is not allowed to, but in some part later on in the story she's able to see a glimpse, a small peek of the beauty of the living world.

So... yeah, the captions of my drawing was "Imagine living a life in a world you were never born in." I wanted to put the full thing, but the text looked too plain and bland that I thought you guys wouldn't really like it.. ^^"

That's my idea for my story, so don't steal it if you ever try writing a story about it!

Hope you liked the drawing, and if you want to know more about the story, just post a comment on my wall/conversations on my account and I'll try to convince myself to post my story on Wattpad because in all honesty, that is the only story which I planned 100% with a beginning, middle, and end.

My other stories just consists of me winging it so they don't have that uniqueness and quality my dumb little brain thought it did which is why I'm kind of embarrassed to finish them.. 😅
