I have been roaming around endlessly for the past 1000 years. I have seen various changes taking place in front of my very eyes. I changed myself according to the period I lived in.

I was once a general of a small Kingdom. The king and I were childhood friends. The king liked to go on secret investigations and I always accompanied him.

Once we went on one of our secret investigations when the king noticed two beautiful gazelles with unique hide. He shot one of them with an arrow when an explosion occurred. The gazelles dissappeared and from that place emerged a beautiful woman and a handsome man. The man was shot and the woman looked at us with utter hatred.

"I, the goddess of calamity, curse both of you for killing my loved one. One of you will be killed by your lover and the other will have an eternal life of always witnessing the death of every person they fall in love with."

We never took the curse seriously until two years later when the king was killed by the woman whom he had loved. I was so saddened by his death that I forgot that I was also cursed. The people around me began to notice that I had stopped growing older. This reminded me of the curse that I bore.

My parents died and I never married in fear of the curse. As my friends, relatives and even those younger than me died, I was suspected to have done something evil to retain my youth. Soon, I could no longer stay in the kingdom and had to roam around since then.

At first, I had closed my heart for the fear of the curse taking effect. I decided not to fall in love with anyone but the curse had taken control of my heart. It was like a cycle of love. The moment when the one I love dies, a new one is born who I later meet and always fall in love with but at the end see her die in front of my eyes.

I could never stay in one place for a long time because of my unchanging appearance. As a result, I had to move from one place to another before anyone got suspicious about my appearance. I travelled for the purpose of finding a way to get rid of this curse but to no avail. I even tried looking for the same goddess and it lead me nowhere. In addition to that, I tried killing myself but it also never worked.

I was getting tired of the pain I received by seeing my loved ones die in front of me all the time. I started going into depression which made me do terrible things like killing the person I fell for with my own hands to avoid the pain of having them die by other means. I became merciless just to avoid getting hurt myself.

The endless cycle had turned me into a monster. Slowly, I changed and stopped interacting with people to avoid falling in love. That plan actually worked for sometime but later the curse rendered it useless.

Sometimes I wondered how many hearts I had since I gave it to so many people. There were so many that I had loved but they all died whether they loved me back or not.

The doorbell rang.

"Hello, I'm looking for someone named Darth. Do you know who that is?" A young, beautiful lady with extremely bright eyes asked me.

My wretched heart started racing the moment I laid my eyes on her. The similar feeling that I know so well. The feeling that always brings me sadness and pain. I tried to convince myself that it's not love but deep inside I knew the feeling of love so well that I couldn't convince myself. At the end, I gave up and let my heart do the usual.

"That's me. Do you need something from me?" I asked with a gentle smile.

It became a habit of mine to charm the one I fell in love with.

"I heard from a source that you were researching on goddesses and curses and various other otherworldly things," she said without hesitation, "I have some confidential information that might help you."

"Please, come in."

A new chapter began that will either end horrendously or might break my curse. I wonder which it is.

Will I be able to break free of the monstrous curse with the beginning of a new love that leads to doom?
