Heather takes a sip of her hot coffee as she closes her eyes to truly lose herself in the delicate flavor of it. When she finishes her gulp she opens her eyes back up to look upon her very lush greenhouse. It sits in the lower area of her property, opposite to the basketball court as she didn't want it too close to her home. It's a place where she can truly disconnect herself from her responsibilities and be surrounded by the beauty mother earth blesses her with. She inhales the crisp air in the greenhouse, finding the small hint of sweetness that the gardenias leave in the air. As she spots them in the room, her eyes fall on the entrance of the building where a basketball rests right outside the door. Heather rests her chin on her hand while the other wraps around her mug to keep nice and warm as she looks on to the basketball court. She gets absorbed into her thoughts and takes herself back to the other night when Tom left in a hurry.

As she sees Tom's car take the curve out of the property, Heather's heart sinks to her feet. She remains frozen in her driveway, looking out to where Tom's car was last seen before it disappeared out of her sight. When she feels she can take a step without her knees betraying her, Heather briskly walks back up the steps of her entrance to go back to the kitchen. Once she turns the corner into the room, she finds Chessy resting with her back against the kitchen island  with one hand tapping away at the counter. Steady rhythm.

Oh boy she knows this look, this should be good.

Heather pretends she didn't notice her and goes to wash her hands before walking past the bar to freshen up her drink. As she's bringing it back to the table with her, Chessy points her bottle of beer her way before taking a seat across from her. Heather is mentally preparing to be told that whatever is going on needs to stop. "Do you want me to warm your potatoes up some more?" Heather blinks at her before snapping back into herself to respond. She plainly nods Chessy her response and starts thanking her lucky stars that the conversation didn't go where she thought. While the microwave hums with Heather's potatoes rotating in there, she starts reverting into her thoughts from earlier today.

The idea of having some kind of feelings for Tom didn't really dawn on Heather until this morning while she was in town. She saw a dress shirt in the window of a boutique that looked like something Tom would wear if he were to go out to dinner or something. When her thought processed through entirely , she realized that was the first time she was thinking of buying something for a person that wasn't herself or her immediate circle of family and friends. It's not that she wouldn't buy it for Tom, it's just the simple fact that he came across her mind in that way that had her questioning how she truly felt for him. Did she only give him the job to help her out because she thought it would be a way of killing two birds with one stone of cleaning those files out and giving Tom something to do? Or did she offer him to come to her home as often as he pleased because Heather needed to see him more than just that one time he visited? She had walked away very  smitten with him when they first met and thought it was simply that.
