Chp 5. Thoughts

Nelly's POV

I'm in Christy's library, looking through some novels.
It's been two weeks since I got fired from my job

I've received tons of emails telling me to resume work but I didn't have the zeal to open any of the emails. I don't know but I've been discouraged. Christy has been of very good help to me in every possible way.

I think I'll have to think about getting back to work. Because God knows that I don't want to cross path with Jacob Stephan

The front door opens and closes. I guess Chris is back from grocery shopping.

I pin the page of the novel I was currently in and slide out of the library. I enter the living room and see Chris strolling to the kitchen.

She turns and smiles slightly at me. I return the smile and seat on the kitchen stool and rest my head on my palm

"Hey" I greeted her

"How are you Nels" she asked looking at me

"I'm fine, just having a throbbing headache"

"Hmm you've been in that library since morning and I feared you weren't gonna come out"

"I'm just tired Chris" I said yawning

"I can see, and yeah I bought some cereals.. Kellogg's, rice crispy, chocolate crisps, and a lot of them. So fill yourself". She said scanning me from the corner she's standing at

"Okay, you've got some pain killers?"

"Yeah they are in this cupboard, let me get them"
"And I put a plate of macaroni and cheese in the oven. Eat it before taking the pills". She said gently patting me on my back before strolling towards her room

What would I have done without her.

"Thanks I love you" I shouted
She gave me wink and proceeded to her room

I stood from the stool when the oven clicked open.

Immediately the smell of the macaroni filled my nostrils making my stomach growl. I didn't realize I was that hungry

After eating and taking the pills. I stride to the room Chris gave me for the mean time.

Before I settled on the bed. There was a knock on the door. Chris peeped in. I nod my head for her to come in.

"Best I was going ask if you can come with me to a party tonight"

Oh party. That means there would be blasting music, drinks flowing, maybe food and hormonal bodies grinding together

I shook my head.

She sighed and placed her hand on mine

"Nelly, I know you're still not happy with your new development but I want you to feel at ease, just for today. I don't want you to look stress and boring just because of one silly boss. You need fresh air and some new friends hm?"

I thought about it for a while. That would be a good idea. I can't remember the last time I went for a party. I guess I'll go for this one

"What kind of party?"

"It's a birthday party and also a house warming party. Okay do you know Chase?"

"The guy with blonde hair?"
Chris has a lot of friends and memorizing their names and all wasn't so easy

"Yeah the blonde hot guy with a nose ring, he is the one hosting the party"
"So are you gonna join me?"

"Okay I'll come with"
