My family and I rode a carriage to the chapel and before I knew it, I was sitting down, and the rehearsal had started. There was a knock on the door. "Get the door Emil" my father said to our butler. A middle aged man came in. "My name is Lord Barkis, apparently I'm a day early for the ceremony." "Emil, a seat for Lord Barkis." my mother said. I could tell that Victor was terrified. He fumbled and couldn't say his vows.
One hour later
"Mister Vandort! From the beginning! Again! With this hand I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine. It isn't very hard!" pastor Galswells scowled. Victor lit the candle. It didn't flame. He tried over again. He finally lit and sighed with relive, but snuffed it out. Everyone groaned except Victoria and I. Then she lit it for him."Let's try it again shall we?"the pastor asked impatiently. Victor raised his hand "W-with this hand, I will take your candle..?" Victor stuttered. Pastor Galswells hit him on the head with his staff. "Ow!" Victor yelped. "I will light your way into darkness!" fumed the pastor. Victoria and I looked at each other. It burned me up the way pastor Gallswells treated poor Victor. "Did you even bring the ring?" Galswells snapped. Victor held it up, then it slipped out of his fingers. He went to get it from were it rolled, under my mothers dress. "Got it!' With that my mothers dress caught on fire. I cringed. Everyone was in panic. I ran over to pastor, and grabbed the wine and ran to my mother. I then extinguished it. Everyone was shocked. "Oh I hope it does'nt stain.." Nell said. The pastor pointed at victor. "Enough! This wedding can not take place unless he is properly prepared! Boy, learn your vows." he boomed. We all exited the chapel and went back to my house. Victor walked down to the parlor and sat down on the settee with his head in his hands. I figured he needed to be alone. I started to leave, but he looked up "Wait!" I spun around. "D-don't leave" he blushed. I sat down next to him. "Alice, what's the matter with me?" he said sadly."Nothing is the matter with you! Your just nervous that's all."I assured him. Victor sighed. "I can't even get the vows right," his dark brown eyes were sad. I looked at him apologetically. "I'm sorry, I need to go." He gave me a small smile and ran outside. "Were are you going?" I called. "The woods! To practice my vows!" And he was gone. I went upstairs to meet Victoria. She was sitting on her bed. She stared blankly at the floor. "Hi Victoria." She jumped startled. " Oh, hi Alice." She said. I sat down with her. "Are you alright?" I asked . She folded her hands. " Victor and I have nothing in common. He probably doesn't even like me." I hugged her. "Oh, don't say that." I consoled.
