Notes: This is probably the best oneshot that I've written.

Roman grumbled to himself as he read his report card. His grades had been noticeably dropping and he needed to up his game if he was to get into his dream college. The only subjects that he was excelling in were drama, music and English (obviously).

"Not doing well I'm guessing?" a familiar voice murmured from beside Roman.

"You're not helping," Roman rolled his eyes and turned to look at Virgil. The emo had his own may of pulling off various shade of purple whilst still being the 'edgiest' person Roman knew. Some people assumed that the pair were a couple but anything between them was strictly platonic.

Virgil peered at his friend's report and sighed, "You seriously need to step it up a bit Princey," he scolded, "you don't want to be stuck redoing all of your classes do you?"

Roman groaned, "I know, I know," he paused for a second and glanced at Virgil's report, "do you think I need a tutor or something?"

Virgil shook his head, "Just do a bit more studying instead of lounging around with Disney tunes in your ears all day, Bambi isn't going to teach you how to locate Malta on a map is it?"

"But where do I start?" Roman leaned against a wall and watched Virgil think.

"How about the library?" Virgil suggested, "I've heard that they do good programs for students and they offer support for certain subjects."

Roman considered this and nodded, "Thanks, Virge."

Virgil nodded and took hold of Roman's wrist. "I'll walk you there, I don't trust that you won't just head home."

The purple-haired emo led his protesting friend down the sidewalk and towards the small opticians-turned-library that Roman was supposed to start studying at.

Once they arrived at the sliding glass doors which led to the front desk, Virgil let go of Roman's wrist and looked up at him, "Call me if you want to be picked up okay?"

Roman smirked, "Whatever you say 'Mom', I can look after myself ya know."
He allowed himself to be swatted by Virgil and half-listened to his friend's stubborn remarks.
"Yeah, yeah, I understand," Roman groaned.

Virgil patted Roman's shoulder before giving him a knowing smirk and ducked out of the library, leaving Princey to get to work.

Roman made his way towards a rather serious looking adolescent that appeared to be one of the librarians. He rested his elbows on top of the wooden block which separated the librarians and volunteers from the rest of the library.

Roman coughed into his palm, causing the teenager to look up.

"Hello, how can I help?" the librarian behind the desk maintained a smooth, monotone voice which reminded Roman vaguely of a machine.

"I'm Roman, I'd like to sign up for the student studying programme that is available." Roman seriously wondered where the surprisingly formal language came from but brushed it off due to nerves.

The librarian stood up from his chair and somehow managed to get round to the side that Roman was standing on. He silently led Roman over to a pair of seemingly comfortable chairs before sitting in the one closest to the window. Roman quickly sat in the other and wondered what was going to happen next.

"So your name is Roman, correct?" the adolescent pulled out a clipboard and began taking notes. "Yes, it is," Roman spied the librarian's name tag, "and you're Logan?"

The librarian that appeared to go by the name Logan put a hand over his name tag protectively, "It is but who I am is irrelevant," He spoke clearly and Roman couldn't help but turn red with embarrassment.

Logan noticed Roman's obvious discomfort and quickly apologised. He proceeded to ask Roman questions such as his school name and subjects that he wished to improve in. Roman half-heartedly answered each question, something else had caught his attention.

A while later; Roman found himself studying Logan rather than the textbook that he was supposed to be taking notes from. He took in Logan's gelled brunette hair, deep blue eyes and perfectly clear skin. Everything about him just seemed... Perfect.

"Can you tell me what you think the answer to Question Three is Roman?" Logan leaned toward Roman to see what he had written but tutted loudly when he saw that he'd only written the date.

"Sorry Logan," Roman quickly apologised, "my mind was somewhere else."

Roman came to the library every day after his first study session. His grades did improve but he'd stopped coming for just the lessons. He had an excuse to spend time with Logan who sometimes wandered from the talk of lessons and school to Roman and his life.

"So you only live with your mother?" Logan queried as he closed the book he'd been reading and Roman nodded.

"Let's just say the whole Father disappearing act has been kinda common in my family for some reason," Roman sighed.

Logan looked apologetic but Roman put a stop to that.

"Don't even consider feeling sorry alright? " Roman put an arm around Logan, "it's in the past and shouldn't be given free real estate in that brain of yours."

Logan glanced at Roman and gave him a small smile, "Alright, I won't then," he reassured him.

The pair drifted into silence but neither took their eyes off each other. Roman inhaled deeply, allowing the scent of lavender and vanilla to fill his lungs. Logan rested his head on Roman's chest and sighed. Roman could feel a strange fuzzy feeling (that he'd sensed since he'd first met Logan) spread through his body, making his heart feel warm.

Roman could see the peculiar looks that others in the library were giving them but he didn't care. This made him want to do something that he hoped wouldn't anger Logan.

"Hey, Logan?" Roman murmured.

"Yes, Roman?" Logan moved back to look at Roman with a curious expression on his face.

"Can I try out something?" Roman stammered as he looked at Logan's expression.

Logan nodded and Roman leaned in, removing Logan's glasses as he did so.

"I need my glasses to see, Roman, what are you doing?!" Logan protested, his eyes squinting as Roman moved even closer.

He moved his face closer to Logan's until it was only a few millimetres from his.

"Promise that you won't mad?" Roman mumbled and Logan nodded.

"I can't promise that but I'll do my best," Logan blinked.

Roman stared into Logan's eyes, almost getting completely lost in the two, deep blue pools that had him mesmerised since day one. Without stopping to think about what he was doing, Roman pressed his lips to Logan's in a passionate kiss.

Neither of them moved from their positions for a few moments, Roman staring into Logan's eyes whilst trying to stop his face from blushing furiously and Logan trying to process what had just happened.

Roman, finally realising what he had done, let go of Logan's face and moved away.
"I'm sorry..." Roman mumbled, his voice barely audible, "I shouldn't have done that.."

Logan took his glasses from Roman's hands and put them on, taking a moment so everything could swim into focus.

"Roman it's-" Logan began to speak but Roman cut him off.

"I'm sorry Logan..." Roman spoke again,  "I'll be sure not to do that again."

Logan tugged Roman's sleeve, eventually getting him to face Logan who still kept his head down.

"Roman, look at me," Logan instructed as he lifted Roman's chin.

Roman, still red with embarrassment rested his head against Logan's palm and sighed.

"There's nothing to be sorry for Roman," Logan assured him, "it wasn't that bad."

Roman looked at the pile of textbooks that he and Logan were meant to get through during that session but they'd been hardly touched.  He took another deep breath, once again inhaling the familiar scent of lavender and vanilla. Now Roman really needed to say something.

"Can I tell you something?" He asked, slightly startling Logan.

"Of course you can," Logan responded, "what is it?"

Roman took a deep breath. If he didn't tell Logan now, Roman feared that he'd never have the courage to confess again.

"I think..." Roman squeezed Logan's hand, "I think I like you, Logan."

A deafening silence fell over the pair and Roman was so worried that he may have made a mistake.

Then, without warning, Logan wrapped Roman in a tight hug and whispered in his ear.

"I think I like you too, Roman."
