Notes: The grammar is slightly unpleasing and I may rewrite this in the future.

This specific plot was requested by DeceitsEyeLash   I have indeed made a few adjustments to what their original idea was but I hope y'all don't mind. I'm sorry if this isn't what they have requested exactly, I did my best. Also, full credit to them for the plot. They're ten times more creative than me- qwq

It was close to midnight and the only ones who were awake in the mindscape were Logan and Janus.  The logical side was up way later than usual as he had some important work to finish and the deadline for it was due the next day so he'd been running on coffee for the past three hours after Virgil had been the last one to go to bed.

Logan's fingers alternated from tapping out sentences and lists on his laptop to sipping his coffee at a surprisingly slow speed.

Janus, on the other hand, was resting his feet on Logan's lap whilst he read a rather enthralling book. Neither of them had uttered a word for a while now as to allow Logan to finish his work without losing his train of thought.

Due to 'The Dark Sides'  still not being accepted by the others as valuable assets to Thomas, moments like these were few and far between and almost always occurred at late at night so they wouldn't get caught and so they could avoid conflict with the others.

Once Logan had drained his seventh mug, he clicked his fingers and a canister of fresh coffee appeared next on the table next to him. Janus looked up from his book at that and raised himself to a sitting position. As Logan began to pour out his eighth cup, Janus put a hand over Logan's and gently made him place the canister back on the table.

Logan's eyes seemed to narrow slightly as he peered at his comrade with a slightly irritated look on his face.

"What is it?" Logan's voice remained level and low but still had traces of annoyance in it. He let go of the canister and turned to face Janus.

The deceitful side withdrew his hand away from Logan's and shook his head.
"You shouldn't be drinking so much of that," he hummed, "you know about what happens when we're in similar situations to this."

"You're making it sound like it's alcohol," Logan snapped, his short temper overtaking his mental plead to remain calm.

Janus recoiled slightly at Logan's sudden, unexpected outburst.
"Logan, are you alright?" he asked, his voice gentle due to Logan's current mood, "did something happen?"

Logan peered at Janus with a blank expression on his face, then taking a glance at the half-empty coffee cup and canister. He attempted to make a grab for the mug with intentions to finish his drink but Janus beat him to it and snatched the mug from Logan's grasp.

Logan looked down at the coloured keys on his laptop, each one a unique shade of blue. He felt his chest heave, causing him to curl up into a small defensive ball, the laptop sliding off of Logan's lap and hitting the floor.

"Logan?" Janus murmured, running his fingers through Logan's hair in an attempt to soothe him.
At the mention of his name, Logan instinctively gripped Janus's shirt for support.
"I'm sorry.." he mumbled, "I don't know why I'm like this..."

Janus smiled softly and cradled the logical side in a comforting hug.
"There's nothing to be sorry about," he consoled, "maybe you should take a break."

Logan shook his head, "I've put off doing this work for too long, I need to get it done tonight."

Janus sighed, knowing all too well that Logan would stand by what he said.
