Ever since Ashton got here, our morning routine has become a bit different.

We had three people to one small bathroom and one of those people was my sister, who took about one eternity to get ready in the morning. I'm pretty sure she'd look like something from the Night of the Living Dead if she went to school without full makeup on.

Ryann takes the bathroom first, Ashton goes down to get breakfast, and I change and do my makeup in my room, then we just sort of switch stations until we're all ready. I quickly pulled on a pair of my black skinny jeans and my grey Mayday Parade sweatshirt and did my makeup. My hair doesn't need all that much work — I just ran my fingers through it a few times to calm the frizz. I heard Ryann screech when she burned her hand on her flat-iron and laughed to myself.

I walked into the kitchen, where Ashton was pouring himself a bowl of cereal in his pajamas. His curls were hanging in his face, he still had his glasses on, and his eyes were tired, but he looked up at me with that same grin.

"Good morning," he said, his voice still raspy from sleep. He opened the jug of milk and poured it onto his cereal.

"Good morning," I replied, lacking Ashton's early morning enthusiasm.

He held up the box of cereal and raised an eyebrow to me. "Want some?" He asked.

"Sure," I replied. I tried to take the box from him, but he held up a finger to stop me and reached into the cabinet to get a bowl. He poured in cereal and milk and passed it across the counter to me.

I chuckled a little bit. "Thanks, Ashton," I said.

"No problem," he replied. "I'm gonna go get changed. Is Ryann still in the bathroom?"

"Of course," I said with a sigh.

He just shook his head and walked up the stairs. I ate my cereal quickly so I could take my five minutes in the bathroom after Ryann was done before Ashton finished changing. Ryann practically ran into me coming out of the bathroom.

"Watch where you're going," she chastised before going to her room to change.

I quickly brushed my teeth and washed my face, avoiding my eyes so I wouldn't mess up my make-up. I took a minute to check out my outfit in the mirror and shrugged. It'll do, I guess; I don't care about my appearance as much as a lot of the girls at my school.

Ashton opened his bedroom door at about the same time as I opened up the bathroom door. He was wearing his black skinny jeans and a black and white Nirvana t-shirt.

"I like your band shirt," he said with a grin and a giggle.

"I like yours, too," I replied. I went back downstairs to grab my boots as Ashton took his turn in the bathroom.

I laced up my black boots and then checked my phone on the couch while I waited for Ashton and Ryann to get finished up. This gave me a minute to think.

When Ashton had come here, I had been very opposed to the idea of having a stranger in my home. I had pretty much hated him from the moment I saw him. But, over the course of two short days, I had already warmed up to him. How was that even possible? It seemed like that was just Ashton's way. He was charming, there was no denying that, but I had thought I would be able to stay cold, the way I always did. Still, somehow, Ashton Irwin had already gotten under my skin and there was no changing that now. Something in his eyes when he smiles just makes you want to tell him all your secrets.

It didn't matter all that much anyway, I thought to myself. Ryann is just going to steal him away, introduce him to the popular crowd and their way of life, and turn him into the perfect Ken doll to her Barbie. From the minute he walked into this house, I had no chance of being anything to him, not even a friend. I sighed to myself.
