The school week finally ended and I had never been happier for the arrival of Friday night. Ryann was at a friend's house for a sleepover and my mom had gone out to dinner with some friends, so I was basically home alone. Ashton didn't do much, he was probably watching TV at the moment. I was lying on my bed, rereading The Great Gatsby — make fun of me if you wish, but it's one of my personal favorites. My ears perked up when I heard the sound of water running. My room was right across the hall from the bathroom, so I could hear the sound loud and clear.

Ashton must be showering. I shrugged to myself and continued my reading.

My phone vibrated next to me and I rolled over to read my text. Guess who it was from?

HAY BETCH. What's up?? Mari's text read. I laughed — Mari's Friday night texts were the best kind of texts.

Nothing much, I replied. I can hear Ashton showering.

Are you gonna try to see Ashton showering?? She replied quickly.

MARI STOP, I replied.

XD Sorry, hun. Just a suggestion, she replied. How are you??

I'm good, I replied. How's Michael?

Why do you just assume I'm with Michael??

Cuz you're always with Michael.

He's good ...

Thought so.

Suddenly, I heard Ashton start belting Don't Stop Believin' from across the hall. I couldn't help but burst out laughing. He was singing at the top of his lungs, but he was hitting all the right notes, and I must admit, he's pretty damn good.

I can hear Ashton singing in the shower, I texted to Mari.

Go join him in a beautiful duet, she replied. High School Musical for the win.

Or I could record him and use it as blackmail, I replied.

Two different types of people, she wrote back.

I went back to my reading and I managed to tune out the sound of the running water. I did, however, hear the sound of the microwave beeping downstairs. Hell yeah, my pizza rolls are ready. I took the stairs two at a time and ran into the kitchen, popping open the microwave and reaching inside to grab the plate of deliciousness.

"Hothothothothothothot," I muttered to myself as I took the plate out and set it down on the counter. I grabbed a napkin to hold under the plate so I wouldn't burn my fingers off on this damn plate and headed back upstairs. I was too busy grabbing a roll and taking a bite that I didn't notice the bathroom door opening.

Holy mother of Christ.

Ashton's hair was still damp and messy, just starting to curl at the tips. A few little curls hung onto the forehead of his perpetually grinning face. He ran a hand through his hair, which showed off his huge bicep. He wore nothing but a towel that hung low on his hips, showing off the V of his hips, his abs, and his ribs pressing against his skin.

I dropped the pizza roll that I had been biting into back onto the plate and realized that I had been gaping for too long. I tried to speak, but I couldn't form any words.

"Hey, Roxy," he said with a small giggle, completely oblivious to the fact that he was standing in front of me with only a towel preventing him from being totally naked. "Ooh, pizza rolls."
